Phone STOLEN at Pink Party
Recently stayed at the Riu Palace Bavaro with my girlfriend for 4 days Wed-Sunday. On the Friday afternoon we attended the Pink Party located between the 5 resorts. Once the party ended we caught security trying to steal my girlfriends phone. Someone nearby our table grabbed it mistakenly and returned it to security and they told us that they had just given it to them. Upon us asking multiple times they refused and said they had no phones, then the person who turned it in went up to them (visibly annoyed) and spoke Spanish to them. They still refused to give the phone back until my girlfriend exclaimed she would give $100 dollars to anyone who gave her phone back...all of the sudden her phone appeared from behind their area "out of thin air". She grabbed it back and didn't reward them obviously. This entire time I had my phone out calling hers and once we got hers back I proceeded to put my phone back into the back pocket of my backpack, security was around us and watched me do this. Then as we were nearly the last to leave we were all corralled out of a small pathway, being guided and bumped in the crowd with security directly behind, once I returned the room I noticed that they had gone in the back of my bag and taken my phone out. We caught them trying to steal my girlfriends phone, when that failed and my guard was down after securing her phone they ended up getting mine instead. I complained to the front desk two days in a row and all they did was send me the same exact photo of the "lost and found" from the Pink Party meanwhile another event occurred Saturday night which would imply that photo should have changed with different or moved items. I believe they show this photo to anyone asking about a lost phone. All that aside the property was very nice, the food was decent and the beach was outstanding. Very disappointed about the phone.
We loved our stay! We were in the VIP villas and enjoyed that immensely!! This was our 4th vacation to Punta Cana and we stayed at a Riu resort every time. Can’t say enough great things about this stay at the RIU PALACE BAVARO!!
This location was amazing! The staff in all locations were very helpful and fun. You do not need to make reservations at the restaurants, however, get there early or you will be on the waiting list. The steak restaurant had the best grilled ribeye ever! The buffet was ok and we were good with that. We have stayed at a few Riu resorts and know what to expect. Best part I feel were the beautiful palm trees and the blue sky's all week! We will definitely be back to Punta Cana. If you are looking to swim with the dolphins, wait to book it till you get there. Use the scuba place by the main pool bar. The price was way better than online.
Great time. A very pleasant experience. Fabulous staff. Lots of choice of food. Long walks on beach. Well maintained gardens.pools and bars brilliant. Reception staff very helpful. Coffee, tea shop super
Food, views, drinks, parties, entertainment and activities! Not to mentioned a beautiful walk up beach. This place is lovely in every way. All you can eat in the main restaurant, a 3 course service in the steak, a 24 hour snack room with a bar and 4 5 star restaurant that serves you 3-4 courses. All inclusive vip package! No need for money on this trip. But I did bring money for souvenirs and $100 in ones for tips for the staff. That really helps them in combination with there pay. Only one issue for me. I pick an adult only resort but it was children there.
