Great hotel but other guests reserving the beach chairs in the front at 6:30am and not returning to use them until 2p

The stay was amazing. I was only disappointed with not getting towels to use after the shower 2 out of the 4 nights I stayed was ridiculous. I called the front desk and they said they “ran out of towels.” My other issue is that guests are allowed to reserve the beach chairs and umbrellas as early as 6:30am but did not return to actually use them until 2p. This issue needs to be addressed because I could have used the chairs/umbrella during the time of the guests not being there to use it. You should not be able to reserve them and then leave to go on an excursion for the day to then return in the afternoon to use it. Also they mentioned no reservations required for any of the restaurants but in order to dine at the restaurant you have to wait on line 30 mins before they open to put your name down for their first or second seating when they open at 6pm.

    Disappointed first time Aruba visitor

First night here at the Riu Aruba Antilles. Not at all happy. Lunch restaurant that should've been open until 4:45 stop serving early. Tried eating at Steak house ar I understand 6:45, I was told the restaurant was at capacity for the evening and not seating additional customers I went next door to the Arubian restaurant which was nice, obviously not my first choice. On the way out I overheard the same hostess offering a table seating for another customer for 8:15 seating time. I spoke with manager Luis at the front desk and was told I should've been offered a beeper if additional seating was available which I wasn't. He said he couldn't say what happened. Not my job as a customer paying close to $5k for vacation to figure out your system. I'm not sure if this was a discrimination issue or oversight. Not happy, they should take reservations like many well known established vacation spots. This has definitely left a poor taste on my first Arabian Riu experience. I'll let you know how the rest of the stay goes. Oh BTW, you cant make reservations at the Riu family hotel if you're a guest of the adults Antilles section. Another bummer. You can indulging the buffet but not the restaurant seating.

    Elite stay

Mixed feelings on this location. There were several people that deserve five stars, John (morning and lunch buffet), Mike (hotel bell hop), and the 2 young men working entertainment. As for the Elite building, walking to our room (208) we noticed a lot of construction noise. We immediately asked about this, and assured it was from 8am-5pm only. Not the case...7am-7pm. So much noise we could not enjoy our balcony. Went to the front desk the next morning (10am) the Elite desk was not open. We explained our concern and we were offered another room in Elite building or downgrade to a regular resort room. We knew the entire Elite building was subject to construction noise, and asked for a regular room and to be reimbursed for the price difference. We were told "No, because an Elite room was available". What kind of customer service is this?

    Amazing Trip

My wife and I just returned from a week at the Riu. We stayed on the 9th Floor, Ocean View. We had the best week ever. Paola at the Towel Hut was the best staff member there. Always greeted us with a smile. Our room was extremely clean. Outlets are definitely sparse so bring something else with you. I gave it a 4 because when we arrived a young lady at the front desk was extremely rude to us and we had to have the key cards rekeyed at least once a day and they were not near our phones. She also gave me an attitude the first night when it happened. We also checked out a show and lasted two minutes. Terrible entertainment. All in all we were happy though.

    Amazing trip, as always!

Beautiful resort, friendly, attentive staff, great food! My only complaint is with the specialty restaurants. We have been to this resort twice in the last 6 months, and it is almost impossible to get into the steakhouse unless you line up an hour before the restaurant opens to see if you can even get in. There needs to be a better system. I also wish there were more evening activities.
