    Currently just going into our second week here, we upgraded to a partial sea view and got room 3507 , it's perfect. The room is spotless and has all you need. Plenty of food choices between the buffet and the speciality restaurants, something for everyone. The pools are clean and you can always get a sun lounger any time of the day. The beach is a 30 second walk and plenty of sun loungers there too. The staff can not do enough for you, always pleasant and never stop. The hotel is cleaned and maintained constantly. I would recommend bringing dollars to tip. It doesn't make you get served any faster or your room cleaned any different,they just deserve it because they work so hard. Being from England it's not our way to tip but feel we want to here. The whole place is amazing and looking forward to our second week. We also just got engaged here so hopefully we will be back for a honeymoon. Can not fault this hotel.

    As a repeat RIU Customer, this has to have been one of the best run resort that I have been too. The resort was constantly cleaned during the day and the evening. The buffet had a variety of food to choose from. The one speciality that I attended was the Steakhouse. The steak was good, and the staff was excellent. Had no issues with the staff at this result. The housekeeping staff for the 1st floor in Building A worked hard, and the room was kept cleaned. The service provided to us on the Terrace at the St Anns restuarant was excellent. The only 2 complaints is the 3rd party company that RIU uses for the airport transferred, where passengers to the resort had to transfer part way to a different bus, felt safer by arranging private transfer back to the airport. Secondly, the theatre for the resort, was small, for the size and amount of guests there in February. Couldn't get a seat for any of the shows.

    Great holiday! Staff so friendly and welcoming, all areas in and out of the hotel are so clean. Food - constant supply of freshly cooked food, great facilities. Cannot think of anything negative to say about this hotel. We had an issue with our safe, when I spoke with customer services, security came up to our room within minutes. Well done hotel Riu!

    First impressions sets the tone for the entire experience

    My experience with the front desk staff was beyond frustrating. First impressions sets the tone for the entire experience. I am a hospitality professional, and I was utterly disgusted by the way I was treated as a guest upon checking in. Specifically, I was served by Mickay at Riu Ocho Rios, she was rude and condescending. I asked a question about the reason for verifying my card again despite the fact that I prepaid for my package and given that my reservation was all inclusive and would not incur any incidental charges. Her response left me wanting further clarification, and when I asked to speak with a manager, simply for clarification, mind you, she proceeded to roll her eyes. She was unacceptably rude. This behavior was not just exhibited by this one front desk employee, it seems that it ruminates through the entire staff at the front desk, I was confused! I have not stayed at a Riu property before, and I can safely say that I will not choose to stay at another Riu property in the future based on this interaction, nor will I recommend it to my clients. It’s too bad really, the housekeeping and all the other staff members throughout the property were very accommodating, but as I said, first impressions sets the tone of the entire experience.

    Beautiful beaches

    The property is well maintained and the beach was amazing. We never had trouble getting a lounge chair! The food was great although having a theme night at the buffet would have been nice. The same food was served each night but the a la carte restaurants were relatively available and we ate at most of them as well.
