    Family visit review of RIU OCHO RIOS

    Check in is long (took 1hr n we arrived at 3) The slides close at 5 - even with their new change of time with the late check-in Food is poor Customer service is poor Cleanliness is poor (spills n table messes take a long while to clean up)

    Warning!! room robbery’s

    There have been a spate of room robbery’s when guests are actually in the room sleeping! Customer service has been appalling regarding this matter, I shall be cancelling my booking for this hotel for next year.

    Horrible Customer Service

    RIU Ocho Rios will never see me and my son again. The customer service is horrible. There was a very violent domestic fight happening in the room next door to the room I am in with my child. Loud yelling, beating, crying, items being thrown and doors slamming at 1:30am. I called the front desk to be told there is nothing they can do. I am truly disappointed I decided to stay here.

    Riu Trip Review

    Our experience at Riu was great. I did not regret using this location for our first anniversary celebrations. The staff was very accommodative. However, the main restaurant “St. Ann” served the best tasting food. Our only challenges was with parking.

    Hector Ass.GM poor leader

    My 6th visit to this location and it was not well spent due to an encounter with an upper level manager. It started with faeces in 1 of the pools of which I brought to the attention of pool attendant who immediately started to address the issue. It went bad when I saw a pool attendant and stopped him to ask if the pool was not going to be drained, he proceeded to explain the the procedure. While doing so his mask was on as well as an housekeeper who brought me so disinfectant however, though we were distance my mask was down. On came Hector, he just went off on the workers about talking to me without my mask up (dining area, pool & beach mask free areas) as we were standing in the corridor. Hector didn't introduce himself hence I took the liberty of saying hi and asked his name of which answered and then went on to lack of better words attack/chew the workers. I then interject and apologize to the staff for not having my mask up as nothing about Corona should be trivialized. I then addressed hector that his tone and attitude was not up to standard and he was yet to ask if all was ok as it relates to me a guest and I said maybe I need to ask for a refund and leave, he replied yes I could and that I should just go to the front desk. I am a born Jamaican naturalized American and at the time of visit the hotel was filled with mainly locals of which I felt so good seeing them enjoying what is usually enjoyed by tourists and to think this is how a senior manager would not only address the staff but more so in front of guests and to make matters worse he was so arrogant that he was willing for me to go request a refund and leave, in a time such as this. During the closure lower level staff was out of a job were they paid? Hector I'm almost sure you were compensated I really don't want to think that because you thought I was a local (I am) or worse the color of my skin why you reacted in such an unprofessional manner. Suggestion, do an ANONYMOUS survey on upper level managers and see how lower level staff see them. Hector needs alot of work, Mr.Pryce soso and Mr. Til seems to be ok (upper level managers that I encountered).
