Oct 13, 2024Disappointing
I'm really disappointed with my current experience at Riu Ocho Rios in room 1055, which I had high expectations for, considering it's a five-star establishment. Unfortunately, my stay has been far from what I expected: 1. The **mini bar** was refilled with half-full, previously used bottles. For a hotel of this caliber, this is completely unacceptable in terms of hygiene and service. 2. The **shower** temperature fluctuates dangerously, jumping from cold to scalding hot without warning. I was burned because of this, and it's a serious safety concern. 3. A **plug socket** in my room is loose and coming away from the wall, creating a safety hazard. 4. The **room door** has been stiff and difficult to open or close. Maintenance attempted a fix with WD-40, but the issue still persists. I have already requested a resolution from management for the inconvenience and safety risks without response. It's disappointing to experience such problems in a hotel that promotes itself as five-star.

Day pass experience 10.30am - 6pm Let’s start with us arriving at 10 as we was told only to be mad to wait 20mins outside the gate until we was let in. The kids part was lovely but felt VERY segregated from the rest of hotel, u couldn’t have drinks while u watch ur kids play 🤦🏽♀️🤬 The drink bar beside it was self serve Non alcoholic and the amount of flys was Ridiculous, I’m talking about flies sitting on the faucets When I then went to other pools they was either adults only or too deep for the kids. The beech was white sand but so much rocks & seaweed When I was sitting on beech or pool side I was not offered a drink or any service at all. I wouldn’t stay here at all

Hi I’ve been to this hotel 5 times always loved it never had anything bad to say about it till this time there was a piece of clothing taken from our room we reported it to the reception then to the assistant manager then the third time we reported it to the desk across from reception to a very rude man called Kemar he mad us fill out a form he then frogmarched my partner up to the room with security searched our room searched our safe then came back searched our car and my handbag then wanted to search the other 2 guests that came with us that were never in our room he said it was the hotel policy to do so that was 3 days ago we have heard nothing since we are still at the hotel nobody has came back even with an apology I won’t be returning here even though I love this hotel it wasn’t very nice we’re paying guests to be treated so bad

Some areas of the buffet - food is not as hot, although I suppose it depends when you arrive at that particular station. Cocktails are not authentic. Rooms and bathrooms were great Room fridges were replenished frequently Great hotel for all ages

Oct 11, 2024Excellent and Enjoyable Vacation
My entire stay at the Hotel RIU Ocho Rios was excellent. The check in staff was very knowledgeable and helpful; I totally enjoyed the room and its cleanliness, the dining staff was courteous and helpful, the food was excellent, the drinks and the entertainment was excellent. The only issue was the problems with the electricity going on and off in the middle of the night.
