For reference this is my 8th time to Jamaica staying in different resorts across the island - Hotel capitalises off the fact that the market for hotels in Ochi is pretty sparce (hence why I think they haven't acted on any of the complaints made as people will book anyway. The entertainment at this hotel is GREAT! You will never be bored however that's where it stops. Staff on reception are very rude, almost as if they don't want to be there, no customer service whatsoever, Bar staff, Entertainment staff and waiters are great. So a shame that minority spoil it for the majority as first impressions count and you are obviously greeted by the staff at reception first. An example, asked for a bottle of water from a member of staff on reception - member of staff rolled there eyes and said "we nuh have none here" knowing how they are I went and asked another member off staff further down the desk and they brought it out to me in minutes......If you do not have to stay in Ochi I would give this a big swerve and settle down somewhere else. Of all the hotel chains I've stayed at in Jamaica nothing has beaten Royalton. Most nights I had to eat out as the food is terrible, hotel room however very well kept and modern! Some rooms are still old throughout the complex so ensure you check when checking in. Clientele that arrive at this hotel can also be a mixed bag! (SAID POLITELY) If you are coming from the US they only pay 80 dollars per night for there stay. On average coming from the UK we pay the US equivalent of $174. 3 stars out of 5.

Bday vacation trip
Overall the resort was nice. Idk if it was just this resort or jamaica has change because they not as attentive as I thought they would be like we always have to get our own drinks also on the beach it could use small table to put drinks/cups besides the chairs. But Riu is still one of my fav! Entertainment/food/cleanliness/place and rooms were all great!

Jamaica Ocho Rios
Pool side jerk chicken station. Pool near jerk chicken station was not clean. large chicken scraps on pool deck, dirty dishes everywhere all day. Not safe stepping on chicken bones and chicken scraps on floor near pool.

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much.It was,fun excited,memorable.The services offered namely customer service,bar attendance,chef, lifeguards,room attendance etc.I must say the whole staff if riu was exemptionally good. I really wanted to meet Miguel☺️ would definitely recommend my experience to others and my family would diffinately returned.
