Concern
Nice location and lots of varieties of food to choose from, entertainment good. Re the rooms there should be a sign saying watch your steps. One of my friends visits my room and was not aware there is a step there and almost fall. Next thing the rain was falling and blow in the passage. Lots of water was there for a long time before is was mop up. This is very dangerous for your visitors. One suggestion, you could put some plastic blinds which can be roll down and up so when it rain at least water would be in the passage way. This my first visit and will come back

Another great holiday
This is our 2nd visit here & although there were a lot of changes from our previous visit we were not disappointed. The only criticism I have about the beach is possibly to have a small table & ash trays as I found that there was loads of cigarette stubs in the sand. The restaurants were great especially Dt Anne’s with lots of choices, but one thing annoyed me was the meat & tuna was always frozen as the tray was not raised above the ice which I mentioned to a member of staff who just shrugged her shoulders.

Great time in Jamaica
I've only stayed at four resorts in my life, with the RIU being one of them. My experience with resorts is limited, but in my opinion, the RIU was the best. I am a 35-year-old Black Caribbean male, and I went with my girlfriend. We had a blast! I would give this resort five stars, but I feel that the staff is not paid enough. Although it is stated that tips are included, I strongly suggest that you tip, as I saw many others doing so. This isn't just specific to the RIU; it's the only resort I've stayed at that mentioned tips were included.

Nice stay, however not 5*
We just returned from z Riu Ochos Rios Hotel in Jamaica. This was our first time in Jamaica. This is our honest review of the resort. LOBBY & GROUNDS - Very nice spacious lobby with plenty of seats. Newly renovated. We liked the layout of the hotel, you can enjoy the view of the ocean from the lobby or from the buffet. Grounds very well maintained. RESTAURANTS & FOOD Very basic and repetitive. An hour before closing, most of the dishes were gone. Most of the food half frozen, long lines up to get omelettes etc. good variety of juices. Speciality restaurants - nothing impressive. BEACH - plenty of sun beds. Nice palm trees. Rocks in the water on the main beach. Nicer to the left of the hotel by the infinity pool. If you enjoy long walks on the beach, this resort is not for you. ROOMS - clean but little outdated. Our room had two levels, could be safety hazard for some. ENTERTAINMENT & SHOWS - okay STAFF & SERVICE - good service, however very rarely you will see staff members (restaurants, buffet) smiling. Hardly ever you got “Good Morning” from the staff except entertainment team, always happy and cheerful. OVERALL - okay hotel, no major complaints but definitely not a 5 star. We are glad we visited Jamaica but based on our experience over rated and over priced.
