    Good and bad..

Me and my son visted between june 27th and 11th july .Lovely location, nice staff, the best coffee in the morning!! Evening entertainment could be better, I really wanted to see a full reggae band on the main stage playing, I wanted reggae themed evenings, it kinda lacks that a little bit. And this is not to say the entertainment staff don't work their butt's off because they do... the on site ship is a complete rip off.. 9 dollars for a packed of rizla, a bag of crisps (chips) 14 dollars.... 50 dollars for a small inflatable... Location is a little out the way of everything, so if you want to do dunns River & 9 mile it's a good 16hour round trip.

    Sleep deprived

Hotel was pretty great overall. However, we were awakened 4 out of 6 nights between 10pm and 3am to blaring smoke alarms literally going off inside our room any time another room in our building decided they wanted to smoke. These alarms were very loud, going off repeatedly. Nothing was done to correct the behavior so it continued night after night. For families staying here, this is an awful thing to allow to continue. My children were so tired every day. Speaking of smoking, it is a free for all in general throughout the hotel… smell of weed was everywhere and you could see people smoking all over the place despite “designated smoking areas.” Why bother? There were no repercussions to those who broke the smoking rules, even in the rooms. If you value sleep, do not stay here. Good news - food was great with lots of options. The specialty restaurants were amazing, but you have to wake up at midnight to book them because the reservations book up so quickly. And waking up at midnight already sleep deprived from the smoke alarms was not ideal. Beach was great but fair amount of sea grass. Most staff were very friendly, but some seemed annoyed with any request or if you asked them to repeat themselves. Entertainment was pretty good, and the entertainers worked very hard for the shows. The fire alarms ruined the trip for us unfortunately, and we would not stay here again for that reason alone.

    Great family trip

We are having an absolutely amazing time (even despite the afternoon daily storms). The resort grounds are super clean and taken care of. Something breaks, they fix it asap. Bring water shoes as it will help at the beach. Food was amazing! The entertainment team and nightly shows are the best we have ever seen at a resort. Honestly the entertainment members were simply phenomenal and so hard working. The service was a tad slow BUT I think it's because the resort was at full capacity and they needed more wait staff to keep up clearing and setting tables. The only 'complaints' we have are there are no umbrellas or huts at the beach. Staying under the trees is doable but you do get covered in ants or hit by the falling fruit lol. The other is no lights on the balconies of the rooms so sitting outside at night was pretty pitch black. As for the locals, bring American money. We brought Jamaican money and several times they tried to scam us when quoting the exchange (even though we would google it). Several lovely ladies at the markets on the beach just off the resort explained that Jamaican money is worthless to them as they get a better exchange with American dollars (this is what we were told by several locals). The drive from the airport to the resort SUCKS but it's just a small portion of the trip it doesn't matter. Highly HIGHLY recommend this resort!

    Lovely holiday

First time to Jamaica and we had a great holiday . Warm welcome by reception team , bellboy helped with our luggage to our room in block 3 . Before arrival I emailed to ask for a specific bed set up as travelling with our 16 year old, we didn’t want two twin beds pushed together, on getting to our room this is what we had. Far from ideal as essentially you are all sleeping in one bed . Quickly resolved the next day to a room with a king and sofa bed , although we did have to check out of room at 12 and check back in at 3 which was a bit of a faff. But this room set up was much more comfortable so thank you to the staff for helping sort the issue . Block 3 was a ten minute walk to main area, so if you have difficulties ask for block 1. The hotel is great, very modern as has just been refurbished, most areas clean and tidy , our room was always cleaned well, toilets everywhere are immaculate , restaurants at lunch can get a bit dirty , especially pepes, with food all over the floor . Corridors and stairs in our block were a bit messy. The fire alarm went off in our room 5 times , luckily I had read that this is common so we weren’t alarmed by it ! Air con was good, could have been a bit colder for me on the very hot days. I took dehumidifier bags for the wardrobe and drawers and these filled up in the 12 days . Food was a bit lacking for us, buffet fabulous for breakfast but not so great for dinner . The speciality restaurants were good, found it easy to get in most nights but menus are very limited. Our favourite was kulinarium, least favourite was Luigi’s . The Asian buffet was much better than main buffet for dinner. Sports bar food was good but again a limited menu , but loved the air con in there, welcome break from the beautiful sun. Huge thanks to the wonderful floralee in the buffet at breakfast , such a sweet girl, a credit to the hotel ❤️ Pools were good, we preferred the quiet pool . I understand the quiet pool rules but would be nice if you could use floats to float quietly !!! Sunbeds plentiful everywhere. The beach was lovely, a lot of sea grass but there are areas without . Take beach shoes . Beach sellers were ok, a polite no thank you and they move on . Bobs bar drinks were good but would have preferred an actual beach bar with chairs to sit and have a drink instead of just takeaway drinks . Shame the bars don’t open until 10 . People are up and about well before 7am so would be good to be able to grab soft drinks by the pool before 10. We really enjoyed the steel birds band and the neon party , beach party was good too . Lobby bar was great for evening drinks. Bartenders were amazing , best rum sours ! We did some tours and our transfers with waves tours and I highly recommend them. Absolutely loved benta falls , ricks and 7 mile beach All in all a fabulous first holiday to Jamaica

    Soothing the Soul in Jamaica

This was my first time vacationing in Jamaica. After extensive research and reviewing others options I decided on this all inclusive resort. This resort is located on the beach. My room was spacious and clean. When I checked in I was provided a non alcoholic beverage and a comfortable chair in which a representative explained some of the main features of the resort. A. Very kind bellman helped me with my luggage to my room! ( Make sure you bring several American 1’s for tipping) . The room comes with a well stocked bar and bottles of water! The hotel does provide free Wi Fi. Tamika one of the desk clerks helped me with the hotel app. Once that was situated I was able to reserve a time at one of the hotel specially restaurants(The s Steakhouse). The buffet was adequate. Fresh fruit, several ethnic dishes and desserts,( Take hand sanitizer or wipes) There was also a Sports Bar open 24 hr as well as a snack area called Pepe’s that featured Jamaican cuisine! As far as the beac and timing there were plenty of lounging chairs! Go early and claim your spot for shade under a tree. The beach and poolside had several different water activities . Along the far left side of the beach there are several vendors that sell T-shirts; jewelry; canvas, wood work etc! These vendors can be very aggressive! There are several different types of tourist groups that are selling excursions packages! Be prepared to bargain! The only drawback of this facility was no elevator!
