First time in Negril and enjoyed the drive from Montego Bay. Beautiful lobby and great welcoming staff. Enjoyed the ambiance, quality of my room (ocean -facing) and overall cleanliness of the entire resort! Family friendly with a wide range of food and age-appropriate entertainment;( for kids & adults). Adult beverages need some suggestions/ urging for desired tastes. BTW no champagne available,(at least for general consumption) so disappointed to not enjoy a mimosa or glass of champagne during my trip. Overall enjoywd the service and quality of the environment and would certainly return in the future.

Anniversary trip
I had stayed at this resort 8 years ago and I frequently visit Jamaica. I appreciated the renovations but cleanliness was the reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating. Pros Entertainment staff/ performers were amazing and very fun. Bars and Bartenders were great very attentive and pleasant. Specifically Vaneesha at the Sports bar was very attentive and upbeat. Food although making a reservation at the specialty restaurants was difficult the buffet was still great with lots of options. Pepe’s jerk chicken was the BEST! Went there multiple times. Cons Cleanliness Rooms were cleaned well and restocked regularly but the outside areas had cups and plates piled up everywhere for DAYS and cats and birds were eating off of the plates. I just wished the multiple staff would’ve taken the initiative to clean or pick up a bit more. There was a spill or mess on the back stairs of the green island buffet for two days. Customer Service We stated in our booking that it was our anniversary trip. We were told during check in that we could expect something special but never received anything during our stay. Also trying to book a romantic dinner through the RIU app was not working. So we had to leave the resort for dinner.

Loved it!
We had the best holiday here you felt so at home and relaxed. The room We stayed in room 2154 which was an oceanfront room. The view was absolutely amazing loved sitting on the balcony people watching. The bed was very big and by far the comfiest I have slept in. Cleaning was of a high standard. Always plenty of towels and mini bar topped up regularly. Buffet Breakfast at the buffet was great, loads to choose from and a lovely full English. We only ate dinner a couple of times but plenty on offer and always a clean table to sit down to. Steak house By far the best specialist restaurant, the rib eye was awesome. We ate here several times and had no problem booking on the app. Staff are really good. Kulinarium We also ate here several times. The food is lovely set in a nice ambiance and the staff again really good. Italian We only ate here once, the food was atrocious found the lasagne to be cold and inedible, also the seafood linguine was the same, we both left our meals and so did the other people. The staff wasn’t very helpful in fact I would go as far as to say rude. Pepe’s Wow that jerk chicken loved it. Staff very efficient and hardworking . Bobs bar Never had to wait long very efficient routine for serving people. The cocktails are by far the best I’ve ever had. All freshly made no pre-made rubbish here. We tried them all and Dirty Banana was my favourite, gonna miss that! All the bars were run very well and the staff always attentive. Pools We liked the quiet pool best, turned our loungers to face the sea as the view is amazing. Leroy who is the lifeguard made sure it was a quiet pool as well! He was always busy doing something definitely a credit to the hotel. Not as quiet when other lifeguards on. Negatives Didn’t like the rain every afternoon, been to Montego Bay twice in May and never had rain. This was torrential. Fire Alarms going off at 3 a.m. need to stop people smoking on the balcony. Italian restaurant! Conclusion It’s by far one of the best holidays we have had and we have been to most Riu’s. You just felt comfortable, the staff are by far the best we have encountered on our travels. We never go back to the same hotel but might be tempted with this one.
