Good Value
Great beach, good service. Need an OXOX store as prices in onsite store are ridiculous. Lots of pool choices. Italian restaurant was our fave.

Great experience!
We had a great experience staying here! We stayed for 7 days with family (2 rooms, 2 people in each). Each room was very clean, and you could request different things in the app (filling water, alcohol, fresh towels, etc). The service was by far the best part of this resort though. The RIU fun team put on amazing shows at night & fun games at the pools throughout the day. The wait staff in all of the restaurants were great! However, our favorite things were the fitness classes with Marco!! He was amazing. We went to multiple classes throughout our time here and enjoyed every single one.

Birthday Trip
I had a great birthday trip and a lot of fun. The hotel was extremely clean and the beach was stunning. I was surprisingly impressed with the quality of food at the buffet I ended up eating all meals there and was never disappointed. I was disappointed with the quality of drinks and brands of liquor used. Though the service was good the drinks were not as great and there was lack of consistency in how they are made from employee to employee. The resort was fun and we especially loved the live bands at night before and after the shows. If I could change anything I would add better louder music and the pool with the swim up bar and I would open the club on Sunday nights and close it on a day like Tuesday.

Excellent!
Great customer service! Only downside is that it is not on the Cancún strip but the hotel itself was amazing and quiet. Resort was clean and amenities were great. Will come again.

A Few Disappointments For the Money
I'll divide my review based on different aspects of the property: 4 STARS -Drinks...Although free, it took quite a few mixed drinks just to get us tipsy; therefore, A LOT of mixed drinks to get anyone drunk -Pool Tables...To play, you have to pay! Each game amounted to $2USD/$40MXN which is ridiculous at an All Inclusive. With that said, I do get the need to charge since it minimizes table/stick/ball abuse. -Waterslide RULES...You have to REMOVE ALL JEWELRY, even earrings!!! There were so many dissatisfied guests when they heard about this rule. I think this is the most ridiculous rule but I suspect it was created due to some unfortunate soul who snagged a piece of jewelry resulting in bodily injury...I just cannot imagine how. LOL -Buffet Food Taste...While the quality is good (always fresh and actively being refilled), the taste was quite bland and at times, tasteless. -Buffet Food Variety...There was no sense of variety for every Breakfast and for every Lunch/Dinner. They served the same things every day!!! -Location...Not much to say here. Do not stay here IF you want to leave the resort. -Gulf Water Quality...Don't bother trying to snorkel here unless you plan on going out into the very deep waters. The waves caused the bottom sand to kick up so the water was way too cloudy to do any snorkeling. Even when we went further north and swam the west side of the peninsula, the water was just too shallow to snorkel (literally 10-12" deep). 5 STARS -Staff...The staff were outright amazing!!! In particular, Marco the entertainment coordinator, Lino the server in the Buffet, and Isaiah the bell-man. These members of the staff were just so personable and welcoming. Every day we saw them, they would say hello and ask us about certain things that they specifically remembered about us. Even the housekeepers were sweet, thoughtful, and creative. Just wonderful people! -Property...The resort was immaculate, well designed, modern, comfortable, welcoming, well manicured, and easy to get around. Rooms were in great condition. Pillows and mattress were just the right firmness/softness. The room's minibar was always properly stocked with our drinking necessities. -Adults Only...Not much to say about this! LOL -Steakhouse and Italian Restaurant...Both of these restaurants had amazing food. The quality and taste were perfect for our likings. -Pepe's Food at poolside...Despite being "snack food", I felt this place had very good food. The seasoning was just right and the selection was enough to satisfy someone's hunger while playing in the pool. -Entertainment...The talent at all RIU properties is always impressive. We loved watching the 9pm show. -Waterslides...Although I gave it a 4 star (should really be a 3 star for the rules), this definitely earned 5 stars!!! Each slide was aggressive and fast!!! My son and I absolutely loved them but walking up them stair simply gets tiring. Due to the rules of the slide, we only spent one day enjoying the slides. Definitely worth doing!!!!!! -Pool...The overall design and locations for the pools were amazing. Everything from the entertainment pool, to the swim up bar, to the quiet pool, and finally the waterslides...just beautifully designed. -Location...While also a negative, it's definitely a positive if you like some peace and quiet from the Hotel Zone. This definitely was far removed from all the hustle and bustle of city life. There were no taxis or buses (except for excursions or people calling a taxi/uber to go to another place) driving by constantly. Overall, I'd give this a 4 star (mayyyyybe a 4.5 star). Some of the issues are common no matter what kind of resort you go to but the Waterslide Rules, Pool Table expenses, and the poor taste of food really effects my personal rating. Are these issues deal-breakers? Not for a first timer (which my son was) but for those who have experience or those who seek higher quality, I would recommend finding another property. Obviously, a RIU Palace would be ideal but not feasible for everyone. Personally, I would not return but I would not necessarily discourage someone who is interested in going here. I wish I had heard about the waterslide rules and the pool table expense (my son and I are competitive pool players) prior to booking. Nobody seemed to mention this in their reviews. Anyways, hope this helps someone in the future.
