Traded Snow For Sand January 2025
Our group throughly enjoyed our week at the Riu Jalisco! We felt safe, pampered and relaxed during our stay. The food was plentiful, well prepared, beautifully displayed and tasted incredible. The breakfast buffet, beach burger stand, beach lunch buffet, Mexican Italian, Steakhouse and Asian restaurants all provided ample choices! Riu waitstaff were friendly and helpful, our water and wine glasses were never empty during the meals! The rooms were fresh, clean and all amenities in good working order. Housekeeping was fantastic! We'd come back from breakfast to find the rooms spotless each day. The fridge was replenished every other day without fail. Swim up pool bar/bar closest to the beach was super fun. Yes there are wasps but they only seemed to be around the pool bar. Bring a sealed drink cup from home to avoid them going after your drink. Yes drinks do have a sugar substitute flavor but it's not as obvious over time. The drink list is extensive so sample till you find a favorite. Bartenders were very accommodating. Bars by the Theater were a nice place for pre-dinner cocktails and the lounge/bar area overlooking the property on the second level by Reception was a great place for a nightcap. The sports bar/coffee shop down the hall to the left of the Reception Desk was on point! It offered specialty coffees, snacks and drinks. The Staff were super! We did see part of the shows but not all as we dinned around 8pm each evening. The Singers, Dancers and Preformers were top notch, quality entertainment. The White or Neon parties on alternating Friday nights draw a big crowd. The complex stops all outdoor entertainment at 11pm, this is when the Club opens for dancing. The 19 year olds in our group went every night. Music is taped and repetitive, no DJ, but it didn't stop their fun. The beach was our favorite spot. Morning walks at 7:30am to see the sunrise, 6:30pm sunsets and lounging on beachchairs in between. Yes you will need to secure a spot by 8am if you want chairs by any pool or the beach if the resort is busy. Yes there are many vendors just simply say "no thank-you" if you don't wish to purchase. Tip well, tip often and above all be respectful and appreciative of all the hard work the Staff at Riu Jalisco put in to making your vacation a great one. We hope to return again soon!

Great beach, beautiful grounds, excellent staff.
Really enjoyed my stay. I had a resort view room on the first floor, and the condition of the room was perfect. Comfortable bed and pillows. Everything in the room worked, fridge was well stocked with drinks, both beer (dos equis) and mix (pepsi, diet and regular, 7 up, tonic water, water and soda water) and soft drinks, and I appreciated the coffee maker and many outlets. All of the restaurants were great. I especially enjoyed the Asian specialty restaurant and the lunch buffet that is beachside. Food was hot and plentiful. Drinks were great, with brand name liquor. Staff were attentive and courteous. The beach out front is just excellent. Wonderful for swimming and walking. I also enjoyed the many pools, swim up bar and outdoor entertainment. Lovely resort grounds, well kept. The common washrooms were clean and well lit. The gym was alright, and I appreciated the ability to use the better gym at the Riu Vallarta. Staff at front desk were excellent and quick to serve. Check in and out was fast and easy. Riu has great organization for these matters. The proximity to Bucerias was quite nice, as you can either walk there on the beach, or follow a nice paved path into town. It is a gated community, with checkpoints for vehicular entry, so it is quite quiet and safe in this strip of resorts. If you want tranquilty, and don't mind the need to travel a bit to get into either Bucerias or Puerto Vallarta, then this is an excellent place to stay.

Family New Year's vacation at the Riu Jalisco!
Riu Jalisco provided my family (wife and 2 adult sons) a fantastic experience during our stay. I did not have very high expectations going in, but I must say that this resort provides something to do for every age group. My boys met so many people and had a blast. Food was very good (NYE dinner was EXCEPTIONAL!); Rooms were spacious and clean, although the A/C was not the best at times but still comfortable. Entertainment was great; beach and pool were very clean and nice. We fell in love with Puerto Vallarta! Go into town and experience the boardwalk and old town to see the charm and beauty. Would recommend this place to friends and family!

Best resort we've been to
The riu jalisco was the best resort we've been to. The food on the resort was amazing, staff was very helpful and polite the pools and bars were also very nice. Everything was very clean as well. The beds were a little hard, everything else was top notch! Will be checking out different hotels within this chain. Highly recommend!
