Riu Jalisco Stay
The buffet was excellent. Its a good hotel but needs updating. We ended up talking to the next Riu Vallarta for the day because it had a better vibe. I wish we had extra blankets as it got very cold at night and we only had a sheet to cover up with

RIU Jalisco delivers again!
Having stayed at RIU Jalisco 4 or 5 times now, I can confirm that this property is our preferred PVR destination. A comfortably smaller resort, which is easy and quick to navigate, we especially appreciate the amazing staff and customer service. Shout out to Jessio at the Villa bar, Barbara at Don Emiliano, Kaleb and Susana at Adelita, and the entire Bahia Banderas pool bar staff. The highlight of the week is always Friday night’s RIU Party, which was Neon this time, and such a good time. My one piece of feedback was that even though I am a RIU Class member, and I contacted the property a month before arriving to request a certain room on an upper floor (16 to choose from), the check in team was not able to accommodate us. We still had a nice room, and will be back in the fall (before renos)

Riu Jalisco
I stayed at Riu Jalisco recently, and it was one of the worst resort experiences I’ve had. The service was incredibly poor — staff were disengaged and seemed completely uninterested in helping. I found out the resort is closing for renovations in August 2025, and unfortunately, the entire staff is being let go with no offer to return in 2026. This has left the team demoralized, which directly affects the guest experience. Even worse was the resort management. I encountered aggressive and disrespectful behavior from a manager named Carlos, who was confrontational and dismissive with guests. There was no sense of hospitality or customer care at any point during my stay. If you're looking for a relaxing and respectful environment, I strongly recommend booking elsewhere. This resort is not worth the money. Avoid, avoid.
