Spring Break Policies -
1. Student / Spring Breaker Groups (21 years of age or older) will be accepted ONLY at Riu Cancun & Riu Caribe
2. All Student / Spring Breaker Group reservations are strictly On Request and will be reviewed on a case by case basis by the corresponding Destination Sales Department. RIU Hotels & Resorts reserves the right of admission and may reject any request at its sole discretion.
3. If a Student / Spring Breaker Group is accepted:
a. The number of rooms will be deducted from the contracted allotments
b. Minimum Age requirement: 21 years of age or older.
c. The Hotel may request proof of age in the form of passport or official ID
d. Each room must submit a signed liability agreement upon check-in.
4. At all other RIU properties Student Groups / Spring Breakers (either groups or individuals, regardless of age) are not allowed at any time during the year.
5. Guests disturbing or generating complaints from other guests or hotel may be removed from the property, at their own expense.
a. Parties in rooms are not permitted
6. Student / Spring Breaker Groups must comply with any protocols (hotel and government) in place at the time of stay at the hotel.

Jul 29, 2025Overall, it was nice for my first RIU experience
It was decent for my first RIU experience. Idk got an adult only resort, I expected more things to be open and later than 9 or 10pm, but that’s just my opinion.

We had an amazing vacation at the Riu Cancun. Food was really good, drinks were just OK, felt a bit watered down com to other resorts we have stayed at. The RIU parties are amazing and a must attend event. Very easy getting around the property and never had a hard time getting lounge chairs by the pool. Special shout out to Max at the buffet, Angie at the sports bar, Mariann at the Lobby bar Christian at the Riu Caribe Party bar and my man Miguel at the pool bar. Only knock is that we were supposed to have a king bed and we were given two doubles pushed up against each other and they did not even use King bed covers. We booked and made the king bed request months in advance and confirmed beforehand, so that was disappointing.

Absolutely lovely!
This was our first baecation together and we had a blast! My bf and I enjoyed the property, along with the many bar choices and food choices! We will be back for sure!

Writing this only two nights in . Location is bang on , right on the beach and close to the main strip for eateries and bars . Unfortunately , although advertised as a party hotel , i think there’s a big difference between party and behaviour. Place is full of ignorant, inconsiderate, immature folk , maybe the the age for an adult only hotel should be more 25+ not 18. Lots of (what looks like) roided up , wannabe gangstas , balling and shouting like banshees. Lovely place but the clientele let it down and somewhat spoil it .

OK Cancun AI Hotel on sandy public beach!
OK Cancun AI Hotel on sandy public beach with seaweeds in water & on beach! 4 small heated pools to cater for all day drinkers & others! Good double room with balcony & sea views on 9th floor! TV small & outdated with fuzzy picture & only CNN or FOX English channels! 1 large Miramar buffet restaurant for breakfast / lunch / dinner! "Italian" or "Steakhouse" restaurants had less food choice or came with queues! Food generally bland & unseasoned & not always piping hot unless you waited for a new batch to be fried!
