Food! Great service! Nice pools!
I absolutely loved it. This hotel is very nice. The nicest people are there to offer you the best experience. At the buffet, ask for Irving Lopez and Tony, the best team. For a great mexican experience, ask for Marisol Flores, she will make sure you have the best experience at the El Mortero Restaurant. Now, you have two types of rooms. As for us, we had the altitude. So, the view from the 9th floor was stunning! The drinks on the roof after sunset was quite an experience too. You can also experience a room with a pool, seemed very nice, might try it next time. If you're looking for a place with music all the time, amazing pools also with plenty of chairs, this is the spot. As for the beach, the waves are huge and after the rain, you might not be able to swim due to manta raes or medusas. Although, while I was there, saw nobody get hurt. The beach is super clean and there are enough chairs for everybody. Food now, come on! Everything was delicious. Plenty of fresh fruits, salads and all kind of plates with plenty of vegetables and meat ; the bread was out of this world! We were there for Canada day. Received a special plate at our room made of white chocolate, had fireworks and all! Felt welcome all the time. There is also a lady with a hawk, give her a bottle of water, it's someting she appreciates. Now, last thing, please please please do it for me, if you see a tiny cleaning lady at the buffet called Norma, give her the biggest hug for me. Tell her it's from Josee, a new family member from Canada. I felt like she was a member of my family, I miss her already 🥰

Nasty
⭐ 1 star Absolutely disgusting. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a resort. The pool area was completely unacceptable — dirty, overcrowded, and shockingly unsupervised. The water was murky, smelled awful, and had visible grease and debris floating on the surface. I saw food wrappers, chewed gum, and even what looked like human waste drifting by. People were vaping and eating inside the pool, and no one was stopping them. One person even dropped a slice of pizza in the water, watched it sink, and just kept eating from the same box. Even worse, drunk adults were stumbling in and out of the water with alcohol, blasting music, shouting, and creating an environment that was completely unsafe and inappropriate — especially for families with kids. One man passed out on a pool float with a beer in his hand while children swam nearby. It was shocking. There were also used band-aids stuck to the pool tiles, clumps of hair near the drains, and someone was cutting their toenails on the pool deck. A child was using the outdoor rinse shower as a toilet while a parent laughed and filmed it. I genuinely felt sick and left after less than 30 minutes. This wasn’t just unsanitary — it was inhumane. I came here expecting a relaxing resort experience, and instead I walked into a chaotic health hazard. Never coming back. Do better.

AWFUL FROM START TO FINISH, WE STAYED HERE 3 HOURS ONLY...
Where do I start? Maybe I'll start with the positive, the staff, everyone is friendly. But it goes downhill from there... You arrive in a wide open lobby packed with suitcases all over the place... they check in you luggage give you a ticket, and then you follow a very nice and welcoming lady to the basement... Where the Altitude VIP Lounge is located. Take an elevator which is beat up and disgusting down to the basement, while you are on your way to the so called "VIP Lounge" you walk on sticky and cracked tiles, all over the place, the way to the "VIP Lounge" is almost sketchy, dark and made me wonder what was happening. Well I guess that's where we checked in, the lounge is ok, we were offered beverage and food that we needed to make ourselves... not a good sign for a 4 star hotel. Well we decided to check in. We were told that the hospitality room was right next door and if we wanted we could change and go to the pool while our Suite was getting ready, fair enough it's 11am and room check in is at 3pm. We proceed to do so... walk back up thru the sketchy hallway, take the dirty elevator back up, and find our suitcases where we left them, not sure anyone was watching for our belongings while we were a floor below checking in... We go and get our luggage, go back down to the "Hospitality room" which is also very dirty, got in our swim suit as my little guy could not wait any longer to jump into the pool. Rather than going back up and down, I asked the VIP lounge attendant to give me a key to a questionable locker... Not sure it locks properly, but I thought to myself, I don't want to walk back up through the sketchy hallway, and leave my luggages unattended, I decide to leave everything in the locker... Time for the pool, great, walking around the pool area, we finally find a bed in the shade after 20 min looking for one, ok the pool is busy I got it... Get ready to jump in and look at the water, we could barely see the bottom of the pool, and a thick, I mean a THICK layer of oil, hairs, bugs, leaves and whatever it was, was floating atop... ewwwww No thanks, I am not getting in this... let's check out the other pool... No we can't it's only for Adults... So ok, let's check the food, going from snack bar to snack bar, the food is cooked in oil, greasy as it can be, not the vibrant, fresh ceviche I was anticipating, ok let's hit the buffet, oh no it's not open til 1pm... so all inclusive but only on set schedule, which is absolutely insane with the amount of kids and families that are hanging out there. Finally tried the lunch Buffet, oh my goodness what were we thinking... We got there at 1:02pm in the hope the food was going to be fresh and amazing... WRONG! Horrible, everything from the steak to the veggies to the fish was way over cooked, we were so hungry that we went with the freshest looking thing on there, get to the table and the silverware were dirty, crooked, and the glasses (Plastic Glasses) were covered in black spots... We decided not to eat, nor drink anything, we have been at this hotel for less than 2h and could stay there another minute. Decided to contact Expedia, which I booked the trip with in order to cancel and get an immediate refund, nobody was picking up the phone for them to process the cancellation and refund. With insistence, I told the "VIP Lounge" hostess that we are not staying here, Expedia is trying to get in contact with them for now 30 min and nobody is picking up the phone... FINALLY 1h later Expedia got a hold of someone to be told that a refund was not going to be issued. I asked to speak to a manager, and was told that it would take 15-20 min to speak to someone... WAIT WHAT? 15-20 minutes for manager to show up when a customer complain? I have been in the customer service for over 25 years, and this is absolutely unacceptable. Not only this Hotel is disgusting, not maintained, but management careless about their patrons. STAY AWAY! Unless you want to get sick from the food, or maybe from the oil, hairs, bugs and god knows what is floating in the pool. We found another hotel 30 minutes away and it's a day and night difference. In the hope management sees this and hopefully will have the decency to contact me. I DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND! Again the staff is nice and they have nothing to do with this experience...
