You, Your Family and some 'Friendly' people from the Shelter!
Our stay was enlivened with encounters in the elevator and outside with hotel residents who are from the local homeless shelter. I thought that might have been the case and found a response on Hotel.com from management stating yes, they DO have shelter residents at the hotel, but they have their own floor. Maybe so, but in summertime people get around a bit. I will cross this place off the list. The floor of the room was dirty, bedside table had sticky gunk on it. And the smell of marijuana was a bit strong on our floor.
Needs some TLC
This hotel used to be the top of the line many years ago. The bed was very comfortable, but the AC did not work quite right and the room and halls smelt like smoke. The smoke detector was handing off the wall, so I did fix that. I am also curious if the homeless are staying in or around the hotel as there seemed to be quite a few there. The room was pretty clean, and it worked for what I needed it to, the internet is a little slow FYI. It is central to downtown and easy to access what you need. I really think this hotel could use a remodel and could be top of the line again.
A huge maze of a hotel, but nice beds and okay location.
We booked this hotel for a pet-friendly stop on a road trip. The largest drawback for this hotel is that it’s a massive maze, so it isn’t easy to bring in a lot of baggage (trolleys were missing when we checked in) or just pop out real quick to the car. The hotel, elevator, and common areas are old and tired—in need of TLC. The King bed however, was great and the rooms were quite spacious and clean. When pulling into the large parking lot, it seems like you are really far from the adorable downtown, but if you are up for a walk, there is a lot of cute shops and places to eat/drink. Because place seems understaffed and too large, I would look elsewhere if there may be other pet-friendly options.
This place is awesome. Rooms are great. Jill and Ashley helped me so much. I think I have found a new home when I go to Boise. I travel a lot for work and typically stay in low cost properties, but the value is equal to the money I paid. However, at the Red Lion I got an awesome rate for a much higher value and level of service.
Truly an unbearable experience
The room was clean! That’s the only upswing! No effective air conditioning, squeaking bed and sagging to the middle mattress like something from the late 60’s, shower and tub don’t drain, high street noise and grumpy front desk staff. This is a bottom of the barrel budget motel.
