Jul 24, 2025Think it over if you intend to stay at Paradisus Grand Cana - I would not recommend
I speak with the authority of someone who stayed more than 10 times at this property since its opening back in 2018. Installations are very good but, unfortunately, service deteriorated to such level that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone anymore. It seems they have been facing over the last couple of years a serious management problem that brought about this service decay. One can easily feel that a good portion of their employees are totally disengaged with their management and that easily shows off as poor service. Their rules as far as what each category of guest can have access to are at least questionable. For example, you pay and stay in the most expensive suite of the hotel and you cannot access a good portion of the beach because you are not a Circle member! By the way, this rule changed after my last stay there in mid last year, I was not communicated about it upon my arrival and was invited to leave where I was at the beach. That is embarassing. Minibar replenishment is terrible now - it used to be excellent until last year! For Brazilians who intend, I would not recommend, to stay at this hoitel, pay for your stay using regular credi card, not virtual ones that your bank in Brazil will make you use because of security reasons. I paid in full for this stay five months before the trip/check-in, non-refundable rate, using a virtual credit card and the hotel did not allow me to check-in because the virtual card was for one transaction only ad they needed to make a new charge of one Dominican Republic peso to confirm my stay. Since they were not able to charge, card was good for only one transaction, I was not allowed to check-in. Fortunately, I was able to pay again for the stay. Had I not been, I would have no place to stay even having paid well advanced in full. So think it over if you intend to book your next vacation at Paradisus Grand Cana - I would not recommend!

The food options are great, big indoor seating buffet. The Mangu restaurant is really good, wish it had indoor dining option.

Worst vacation ever
Worst resort ever! Staff are extremely rude and miserable, food quality is awful, no towels at the pool ever, can never get a restaurant reservation so I'm stuck with the awful buffet everyday, and room service takes 1 and a half hours everytime you order, or, just does not show up at all. Staff doesn't care if you complain and just apologize but don't do anything. Stay far away!!!

Very new hotel with good food especially the buffet, every place you go you have person who help you and also in the beach area you have a good restaurant and the alcohol is the expensive one. Also the rooms are big enough for a family.
