Misleading Pricing & Pushy Timeshare — Not Worth It
Don’t be fooled by any corporate response Wyndham may give to this review—Wyndham showed no interest in resolving issues during our stay, so don't think they mean it if they bother responding now. We were told we were getting 40% off, booking two rooms, which we paid around $7,000 total for 5 nights. Two weeks before our trip, prices dropped, still claiming “40% off,” meaning now we had overpaid by $500. When questioned, they gave vague excuses. We also booked the VIP package in addition to our room. After seeing what all we paid, the gentleman at the front desk told us that we should’ve called to get the Presidential Suite—despite it not being listed online. I'm sorry, when something says "Unavailable" online, I didn't realize that was spanish for "you should have called and requested that room and it would have been cheaper than what you paid." Even when it was clearly available at check-in, we couldn’t upgrade. No manager was present(he was off for the day and never got back to us during our stay), and no one else could or would help. Every day we were aggressively pressured to attend a timeshare pitch—especially in the lobby, which is hard to avoid. Restaurants were mediocre, and though all-inclusive, they pushed paid “special dinners.” Refuse, and you’re told there’s a 1–1.5 hour wait, even with empty tables in half the restaurant. Skip the resort food and eat across the street—better food and atmosphere and better price (we even saw crocodiles swimming nearby). The beach was covered in seaweed all week while nearby resorts cleaned theirs. By Friday, the smell was awful. Drinks? Completely watered down unless you’re in the VIP lounge. To be fair, the general staff was friendly, and the poolside drink service was great with a tip. But overall, we won’t return. If you're headed to Cancun, stay on Isla Mujeres instead.

Buyer Beware! Property has been sold and reservations cancelled!!
Buyers beware! We are discovering(this is probably happening to a lot of people)that our upcoming reservation has been cancelled due to the sale of the property to another hotel chain. We received no proactive communication from the Whyndam Hotel team, and with less than 18 days until our scheduled vacation, we are now scrambling to find alternate arrangements. We have already purchased non-refundable airline tickets, and this is the only week we are available to travel this summer. This trip was carefully budgeted and planned, and we were looking forward to returning to a resort we’ve visited twice before. To learn at this late stage that our reservation is no longer valid—without any outreach from Wyndham—is completely unacceptable and reflects gross negligence on your part. Adding insult to injury, we are now being told that it may take up to a week for someone from your team to even respond to this issue. That kind of delay is completely unreasonable, especially considering the circumstances. We’ve already checked, and there is no availability at the property we originally booked. If you see this, please check your reservations!

Ok not great
We had a good time but the resort was a little disappointing. The pools were small and the restaurant made us buy an expensive meal to make a reservation. This was not appropriate. Also you couldn’t get drinks until 11am each day. Not even a soft drink. The gift shop workers were very rude. People would try to sell you stuff all the time, Spa, dinners on the beach, time shares etc. The restaurant with the Buffett was hot, no air conditioning. Positive note; the rooms were good, nice and cool. The food was good at the Mexican restaurant and the Italian restaurant was good. The tacos by the pool were great and the hamburgers were good as well. Front desk was very good and helpful at check in and at check out. I probably would not stay here again due to all the extra stuff that’s not included with the all inclusive package.

Graduation Trip was challenging
The resort is nice, however, if you're a large party like we were eating can be challenging. We were a party of 10 and were told that we couldnt be accommodated only to look across the restaurant at a party of 11 seated at the table. Cant really relax in the pool because every hour or so they're doing zumba and stretching and stuff which is not cool if you'd like to chill and have your drink. There should be a separate pool for this

Nice but never again.
Nice resort but the sales people in the lobby ruined it for me. We had barely checked in and they come up to you and try to get you to come and talk with them and want you to schedule your VIP breakfast for whatever it is they’re trying to sell (I’m assuming timeshare). They harass you everytime you walk through and it was a pain. Everything else was fine.
