LIFTS ARE A HEALTH HAZARD
3 lifts for 16 floors! Absolutely disgusted, you can't choose your floor when lift arrives, it's all done outside the lift! At one point we counted 20 people squeezed into a lift because they waited 20 min
Another fabulous holiday!
You can't beat the location of this hotel which is why we keep coming back. This year we stayed for 2 weeks in an Ocean Front room. The staff are amazing and so friendly. One of our party left his phone in a taxi, and the staff out front were able to locate the cab driver, they knew him by name, and the phone was returned in record time. We had a birthday dinner for 8 people at Hula Grill. Food, staff and complimentary Hula Pie was amazing. The girls/guys who worked around the pool every day did a great job keeping us fed and hydrated. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a room on the 11th floor and loved the sounds of the music from Dukes. Will definitely be back for stay number 7
Expensive, noisy only good thing was the staff.
We booked and stayed in one of the more expensive wrap around suites. Pictures on their site are so nice. The balconies look big. They aren't. The beach front rooms are noisy when the bands are playing down below. The food was less than adequate. There are no lines for the restaurant dedicated to Hotel Guests. Would not stay there again for free and this was just short of 1K per night including taxes, "resort fees" etc.
Excellent Staff and Service
Beautiful location. Numerous amenities. But equally importantly this resort is well staffed with lovely people. They made the resort stand out from the rest. We’re already planning on staying here again. Voyager 47 Club is also well worth it at booking.
Better than good, could improve in a couple of areas
Stayed here this summer for over a week and overall was pleased. (I’m comparing it to 3 other Honolulu hotels I’ve booked in the past: HHV, Embassy and Hyatt Regency Waikiki.) The location is ideal being right on the beach as well as close to lots of shops and restaurants. Yes it can be noisy but the music stops around 10:30 pm. It was clean and the staff was friendly. I want to acknowledge one bell desk employee (unfortunately I didn’t get his name) who helped my daughter secure a pool floaty when the ABC store wasn’t able to inflate hers due to the pump being replaced. The food from the restaurants were a little pricey but they were good quality and very tasty. Hotel pool is on the smaller side but they did have extra chairs off to the side and the beach has nice sand and we didn’t have trouble finding a spot there either. The elevators were on the slow side and once the keypad didn’t seem to register the correct floor properly so I had to stand there for a couple of minutes trying to get it work and some rude lady cut in front of me while I was using it. I also wish that the hotel offered the use of free beach chairs as well as water refilling stations (huge plus for staying at Hyatt Reg Waikiki). The Outrigger only gives you two small water bottles per room even though we had 2 adults and 2 kids. I hope they recycle because we bought and went through a lot of plastic bottles! The other thing lacking is a place for a larger group to lounge indoors, especially to take a break from the heat. The upper lobby did have some chairs but at times they were taken by guests checking in/out.
