    Birthday trip

Tiana at check in desk was awesome! She told me about the outrigger rewards and that I can use it at the Oahu since I’ll be staying at their outrigger and was helpful with any questions I had! The room was clean and I like the 47 voyager lounge that had free breakfast every day and snacks in the evening! They had two separate pools one for adults only and the other one for families! They do charge $25 per night for the parking so keep that in mind. I wish it was on the beach but you can see the ocean from the property. The fire and feast Luau was a cool dinner and show thing to check out too!

    Beautiful hotel and resort!

It is a beautiful resort with many amenities. It is undergoing renovation, but it did not affect us. They have many activities onsite. I attended and made a kukui bracelet at one of their classes. They also offer hula and yoga classes there. We attended a Farmers and Artisan Market on the grounds outside the hotel. Most everything displayed and sold there is made locally. We bought many souvenirs there. The two pools are awesome. No need to go outside the premises to keep busy or just relax by the pool. Don’t forget to check out the manta rays. You can see them in the evening. This is our second stay there and would definitely recommend this hotel to all.

Beautiful, great for families… just watch for noise through suite doors

This hotel is fantastic. Achingly beautiful entry, easy to get around, lots of food options, gift shop/convenient store, beautiful grounds… even free yoga! We did the manta ray night snorkel right outside the hotel, and it was just incredible. My kids LOVED the pool… especially the water slide and the “pebbly” kiddie area. The only reason I didn’t give this place five stars is that there was a drunken ruckus going on right next to us on the last night, which went from 9pm to midnight and beyond before we called (twice) to have someone come over and shut them down. There was a suite door between us, and we could hear -everything- going on next door, and it was not what young children should hear. I would love to visit this place again someday, but would be much more upfront about making sure we were not going to be placed next to a room with an adjoining suite door.

    Outstanding

Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa has great customer service. Michael Parker, Guest Service Manager and Karen at the front desk went out of their way to accomodate us. The service from the valet and bell are always so accommodating too. We stay here when in Kona and the service is always awesome. The hotel is currently being remodeled but very minimal disruption to the guests. Great getaway spot tucked away in Keauhou, Kona.

Had a great stay! Needs updated shower!

My fiancé and I stayed at the Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay and had a great experience. We loved the location of the hotel and all the amenities and scenic views it had to offer. We stayed on the bayside and honestly I thought that our view was way better than the ocean view because the bay was always so nice to look at and interesting with activity and the mountain in the background was a view I had not seen before. The grounds of the hotel are fun to explore and take in the ocean views. You can see the sunrise from the hotel easily and there are multiple manta ray boat tours at night that are only yards from where you are watching from the hotel. My fiancé and I were lucky enough to see two huge manta rays clearly visible in the ocean that is illuminated from strong lights on the hotel. The water all around is so blue and tropical even at night. The hotel is close to the highway for getting around and short drive from the Kona village. The pool areas were very nice and there was a waterslide in the daytime. We had dinner and listened to some live music in the Wailele Café and I thought the food was pretty good. The music was fantastic but the meal got kind of spoiled when the bugs started to make their way inside the restaurant. There are little mongoose and wild goats roaming the area which we found super amusing and cute stray cats that are friendly (I asked and they feed the cats). There is also an on-site market that sells liquor. There is also a couple bars at most hours. We attended the Feast & Fire luau and it was a great show. The fire spinner was fantastic and deserves a raise. I really wish that I could give this facility the best rating but I can only give it 4 out of 5 stars due to the bathrooms needing to be updated. I want to give the Outrigger all the credit in the world because I could tell that there was major construction and renovation going on at the resort and it was clear they were investing in the facility. The room we had was good but the shower and bathtub was just not up to par. I expect an expensive hotel to have a fancy shower head with high water pressure and hot water all the time. Everything else about the room was fine but I’m really docking a whole star because the shower was very outdated with a rinky dink shower head that wasn’t even above my head. Self parking was only 10 dollars a day which is cheap comparatively.
