Maui's most Hawaiian hotel lives on under new ownership - and it's still great!
We are today wrapping up our 14th visit to Hawaii's Most Hawaiian hotel over .,.35 years... our first visit since Outrigger purchased the hotel two years ago. We have always loved this place for its excellent value relative to the rest of West Maui, it's laid back vibe, and the true Aloha we've always received from its employees... many of whom we've gotten to know well over the years. We were relieved to find out upon arrival that virtually nothing has changed from the prior management, except that a program to refurbish all of the rooms has continued. The service from our room attendant, Teresa, was outstanding, as it was from the entire cultural staff who made us feel welcome each day. This is not the fanciest hotel in Maui, but it may be the cleanest, the friendliest, the comfiest, and the most affordable!

pretty quiet
Excited for this trip.hotel close to kaanapali beach and black rock few steps from whalers village. imo theyre very stingy with providing anything to guests including tidying up the room, providing the coffee pods included with daily resort fee, the only good thing was access to the parking as there’s a connecting walkway bridge to our floor, other than that theres a laundry facility with vending machine for detergent and softener. Rooms were updated, having a garden and partial ocean view very nice in the morning to have a cup of coffee while watching the birds and pool area. Didnt use or avail of nearby restaurant as its an easy walk to whalers village. Staff are limited visibility but theyre there somewhere, keycards were glitchy as 2 of our cards were not working on different days.

Amazing Outrigger Kaanapali
We had the most amazing vacation at Outrigger Kaanapali Beach. The resort was so beautiful from the plush grounds for relaxing or recreation to the wonderful beaches and amazing views from our lanai. So close to walking to Whalers Village, Black Rock and our Luau at the Sheraton next door. The room was cleaned daily by the friendliest lady on the island Aida C. The store on property had a microwave we could use when needed as well as small packs of plates and forks for when we got way too many of the amazing cinnamon rolls from Papi Ohana’s. We will definitely return to this property for our next trip!

Well located hotel with great beach and pool.
We stayed at this hotel whilst visiting Maui. First you need to be aware of additional costs of Resort fees and Car parking charges + all the taxes adding over $200 to your bill at the end of your 4 night stay. The hotel itself was a bit dated and could do with a renovation upgrade. Our room had a partial sea view and over looked the gardens which were tidy and well kept! We had a balcony and the Aircon worked well. The room had china mugs and glasses rather than plastic or paper! The cleaning staff kept the room spotlessly clean and tidy on a daily basis. Metal flasks are provided for drinking water. USB chargers were available in the room which was comfortable and well appointed. It has a nice sandy beach and pool area with sufficient chairs. The main thing that lets it down is the bar restaurant by the pool, as they did not cater for gluten free options so if you are a coeliac you cannot get a meal there and will have to avail yourself of other hotel facilities nearby which is inconvenient and a waste of your time as they are equally as busy and you have to book a table in advance or queue for ages. The breakfast buffet had some gluten free options and the staff there were friendly and helpful. But for a fixed price where you cant eat much is a rip off. Other outrigger hotels have an a la carte menu so you only pay for what you eat or fixed price buffet. Checking in and out was polite, friendly and efficient. There is also a laundry room on site with several machines to use. All in all it is a very nice hotel to stay at and I would recommend it if in Maui. Big Al’s top tips Be aware of the additional costs and do your homework before you arrive if you want gluten free or other dietary requirements. Follow me for other travel tips around the world.
