Very good hotel with plenty of amenities
Fun spot, water not very clear like Cancun but to be expected. stayed March 5-12 before the resort closed for cover-19. Room was pretty close to the security gate, not the "best spot" Room was adequate, staff was polite. Bartenders were attentive. The nightlife was eh, lots of teens drinking, but it was spring break. Weather was good while we were there. Elevators are hit and miss as is the same with housekeeping. I think for a week stay they cleaned our room twice, but did offer towels, and toilet paper. Resort was precautionary with hand sanitizer at every dining option. Buffet was typical for an all inclusive. The a la carte restaurants were among the bestI have dined at in years at all inclusive due to phenomenal service and taste and presentation. We were treated like top notch important paying patrons. This is osmehitn gI have noticed is lacking in most all inclusive but not this resort. To be duly noted for merit and exceptional service. The Blue Moon dining option is the more formal of all the choices. The Captain, Toledo was fantastic as was our server, and French Chef Aaron. Our food was fantastic and the attention to every detail was taken care of. The Captain was so nice to us and I hope the resort recognizes them for outstanding service and commitment to the service industry. We enjoyed our stay and dining even more. The bowling alley was a nice touch, even though we didn't play it was active at nighttime. As far as night life, there isn't any and none close by. The resort has a bar that closes at 11 then drunk teens flirting and making out at the Route 66 restaurant. Mikes coffee was a a nice after dinner spot. The theatrics were small and typical of smaller all inclusive resorts in line with a high school talent show. Only reason for 4 stars was room location and housekeeping were sub pa. Thanks for a great stay, however we wont return as there are far too many other options in the riviera Maya region. Pools were overcrowded with people putting towels out reserving chairs at 6am.
Awesome views from every spot, different venues for many different styles
The views were splendid from many spots on the resort because the resort ran horizontally along the beach. The a la cartes were awesome. Special mention to the Terraza D'Italia, the outdoor Italian romantic restaurant. The food was superb, and the service was excellent. Our waiters were very attentable and conversive. Luis Trevino and his staff were excellent and took pride in their job. The bartenders were great here. The entertainment staff were wonderful, sorry we missed the Grease performance, but did see the Lion King, and it was superb. The Mexican show that came on the Saturday night was a true cultural delight. Our room was excellent, we had an ocean view which was superb. We didnt have any small children with us, but the childrens pool and snack bar were excellent, and we hope to someday bring our grandaughter their. The different pools for different lifestyles, childrens, family, party, and quiet, was a big bonus for the resort. Would definately recommend and go back to this resort. oh and I almost forgot the indoor bowling alley, with the big balls with the holes for your fingers in them, we had never done this before and it was a blast, and there was a bar right there too. We didn't go in the Teen room, but it looked pretty awesome. Oh yeah, and a fresh fruit smoothie bar, and ice cream shop on the resort, and mike's coffee and patiseries was very popular.
We arrived at this hotel mid March, we were greeted by the very friendly bell boy who noticing my husband walked with a stick advised us to ask for a room near the restaurants. We were given a room in block5 , when the bell boy saw which room we had been given he said it was too far from the restuarants and he sorted out a room in block 11 for us. The first week of our holiday we enjoyed eating in both Italian restaurants, twice in the Mexican and the Japanese with no problems getting a table. We managed to get sunbeds on the beach everyday even the day we went into Puerto Morelos in the morning.Towards the end of the first week of our holiday the coronavirus started to be a serious problem in America and Canada and new guests weren't arriving the number of people at the hotel was getting less every day. the hotel worked hard to accommodate the remaining guests, firstly the main buffet closed breakfast and lunch was served in the Villa Marina dinner was in the Italian restuarant with an a la carte menu covering a variety of dishes. As numbers in the hotel reduced dinner was served in the Mexican restuarant. When we left the hotel there were very few remaining, staff members were reducing everyday but through this stressful time and not knowing when they would have work again all the waiters and bar staff in the lobby bar were amazing always friendly and making sure we still had a good holiday . I would recommend this lovely hotel and hope in the not too distance future things will be back to normal .
Absolutely fantastic resort, so much to see and do. The food and drinks are a huge positive and we would certainly recommend. The staff are an absolute credit to the hotel, in particular Mr Abel Hernandez was exemplary. He was extremely helpful, courtesy and made our stay all the more enjoyable. Thank you Abel!
Third time even better
This was our third time to this resort. My wife, daughter and I stayed for 9 nights and returned home just before the coronavirus started to be a serious problem in Canada. The trip from the airport was only 20 minutes. The resort isn't too big and we enjoyed our time there. If anything, the third time was even better than the first two times at the resort. We had dinner at the a-la-carte restaurants for 8 of the 9 nights. We especially enjoyed the outdoor Italian Restaurant (2 times) where they cook your meal at your table (the salmon and steaks were great), Villa Marina (2 times) where we had terrific steaks and swordfish, and Sensai, the Japanese Grill, (one time). The staff at all of the restaurants and throughout the resort were great and work very hard so we tipped generously. We spent too much time visiting the ice cream shop (try the pecan or coconut ice cream) and Mike's Coffee for cappuccinos, lattes, and the odd chocolate brownie. If I had one complaint, it was that you had to get up early to get chairs by any of the pools. The party pool had most chairs reserved by 6:30 a.m. while at the main pool it was 7:00 a.m. Good thing I'm an early riser. Let's pray that the coronavirus pandemic ends soon without too many more lives lost so the world can settle into a "New normal".
