This experience was amazing from beginning to end! Sour out to Jose R (not sure if last name but the one with the shaved head), Angel, Martin and ALL the friendly and wonderful staff! The staff made us feel like VIPs and right at hime! They were so sweet to our kiddos and went above and beyond! The food was excellent and we recommend the salmon at Cibu and the buffet! Make sure to claim your beach chairs/ cabana early! The pool and beach are beautiful! We cannot recommend this enough! We ventured into town and Jose R made sure we had a great and safe can driver and experience! The only things we would add would be to have more snacks in the room—would recommend you stock up if you and your family like to snack. Overall this was one of the best family vacations!
Wow! I love it here it was amazing! I highly recommend this place. Feliciano, Karina, Noemi, Bacilio and Luigi were awesome. Of course we are forgetting other names but everyone was awesome. Thank you for making our girls trip awesome!
This was truly an amazing trip! My Finace and I came here together and we overwhelmed by the experience. The food was delicious and the resort was beautiful. The entertainment staff was the cherry on top. Niamoi, Luigi, David, Julio were so welcoming. We felt at home the entire time. We cannot wait to return!!
Only good things dinner and nightly entertainment
Upon arrival we were denied preferred club check in as they told us they weren't doing it right now bc of covid protocol. That was fine until we went to the lounge later in the day to find other guests checking in inside the preferred lounge. This wouldn't have been a big deal except we had to wait for 40 minutes until it was our turn to check in. The check in process took a long time as well, most of this was due to covid protocols and mostly unavoidable. Monday, our first full day, the resort got even worse. We sat at the beach for over 2 hours. The same server walked past us 4 times and never said hello or asked if we would like anything. This was all while serving the people in chairs in front of and beside us. We moved to the pool in hopes of getting better service. This idea kind of worked. 3 different pool servers past us without saying hello or asking if we needed anything 5 different times over a hour and a half before someone finally served us. The pool/beach service did get a little bit better, but it was still hands down the absolute worst we have ever had. This coupled with refusing us the preferred check in service we paid for and others received, are what I cannot write off for covid and really the reason we will probably never choose to go to another Now resort. To go along with poor beach/pool service, my wife pointed out that very few staff members said hello as you passed by. Last year at Secrets Cap Cana you could barely pass one staff member, no matter their job, without them at least saying hello or, more commonly, "welcome home". This was definitely a small detail that we missed and had come to expect of AMResorts. The seaweed on the beach was really bad all week until they finally got a tractor out for the weekend starting Friday morning. Before that it was just one guy and a wheelbarrow for a portion of the day. This typically wouldn't be something I would bring up but when we walked the beach we found the Dreams resort two resorts down to have an almost spotless beach (pics attached). So obviously it wasn't just a covid thing, but also a "devil's in the details" of spending a little bit more. Which I understand and will just spend a little more next time. As far as the room is concerned, it was sufficient. The beds were absolutely not comfortable and neither were the pillows. That being said, I also did not utilize the available pillow menu in the preferred section, so the pillow aspect can be partially attributed to me. Closet space was sufficient, seating in and out were fine and comfortable. The only kinda weird thing, we felt for a family resort, was no door to the bathroom. Privacy in the water closet and shower were not an issue, but getting dressed was a little less private. Definitely not a deal breaker, just a little different to us. The dinner service was anywhere from slightly better than acceptable to amazing. The dinner food was much better than expected, and actually much closer to Secrets quality than we expected. The only hiccup at dinner was when they brought us all our sushi before our soup and salad. Other than that (and quite honestly, it wasn't that big of a deal) dinner was the highlight of our day every day. The biggest negative as far as dinner for us was that they only had Bluewater Grill open one night, and we stayed 8 nights. To add to this, if you are able to sit with Natividad for breakfast (both cibu or market cafe) or lunch (market cafe ) he is amazing. The other notable server is Miguel who served us at Trattoria and Paramour. Both these guys are top notch. The only thing we felt was higher quality than dinner throughout the day was the nightly entertainment. We aren't super well traveled, but the nightly entertainment at Now Sapphire was by far the best we have ever experienced. These shows were highlighted by the rock show and the fire show. Both of these were outstanding and we were very happy we didn't miss them. Some of the things we felt took away from the experience that I can not only understand but also overlook due to covid restrictions on revenue flow and staffing, as well as being forced to redirect a significant amount of the labor hours from what they would normally be doing to cleaning/disinfecting everything are: Various small maintenance issues from numerous broken sprinkler heads to thatch roofs in need of repair to paint and everything in between Same ketchup packet in the grass outside our room all week Restaurant restrictions (which we knew going in) We also felt the covid test scheduling procedure was unnecessarily (and almost felt intentionally) confusing and difficult. The test itself was fine, and obviously choosing to travel during this time has its difficulties. I did not include this into my rating, only noting it for anyone reading this with an upcoming trip planned or considering booking. The other thing that is notable, but again not factored into the rating, is the almost undrinkable house red wines. Not sure if this is on purpose to get you to buy wine (which worked, I bought 4 bottles and have never purchased off the wine menu before) or just that it is a mid level resort. Obviously didn't expect fine wine, but this was really, really bad.
Love the atmosphere and the best part of our trip was Alfredo our our bar tender ... he made sure we where happy and we had the best conversation while visiting! Don't hesitate to come visit the Preferred bar that was and is well worth it!!.
