Very hectic but beautiful
This is a beautiful property but be prepared for it to be busy and noisy. Hardly any room at the beach on property and I would not call this a relaxing stay. Good location though to be able to walk to shopping and restaurants. Overall I would stay here again but be aware of how busy it will be

SO Disappointing
We stayed 5 nights. We tried to change hotels upon checking in because the pool is closed. We did not receive notification about the closure because we booked through Expedia. Expedia was very helpful saying they would help us book elsewher, however none of the open hotels were as good of a location. We were offered a $50 per day discount. Really???!!! They would not upgrade our room, they would not allow is to go to pools within the ownership(Marriot)). Basically the staff at the front desk employees were SO rude! we chose this hotel based on our knowledge that Westin Hotels are in general great. I normally stay at the Kahala Resort. We did not because My friend wanted to stay downtown. LONG story short: even when they open up the pool, DO NOT STAY HERE! GO TO THE KAHALA RESORT. THEY ARE THE BEST

Highly recommend!
This was our second time staying at the Moana, and we are so glad we came back! This hotel is so rich in history, has all the amenities, the staff are so friendly, and it is just so beautiful. You are in the heart of Waikiki, quite literally steps away from the ocean. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We fell asleep listening to the ocean waves which was so peaceful. We participated in morning yoga and meditation (free for guests) and the instructors were so lovely. You have an assortment of fine dining, poolside bites, a coffee shop and stores right in the hotel. The staff are so kind- everyone we met was awesome. Shoutout to Alex at the beach/pool desk, he was courteous and helpful! Everything you really want to do in Waikiki is a short walk or drive away. Can’t recommend this hotel enough- we hope to come back!

Love Surfrider but resort fees kill the buzz.
Wonderful place with great on the beach vibe. Would have be 5 stars but we will give no hotel 5 stars as long as “resort fees” are being charged. Between our schedule and what is offered - hula lessons? Lei making? We paid $45 a night for nothing.

Iconic place to stay
Really enjoy the location of this hotel and how it allows you to access all of Waikiki. It was being remodeled as we were there and may have improved the experience as there were fewer people but really enjoyed our time there. It is pricy to eat and have drinks there but it is one of the most iconic and comfortable places in Waikiki. I also lived in Hawaii for 5 years in the late 80's and early 90's.
