Pet peeve. Bustiness taking advantage of emergencys
I have been staying at this hotel several times a year since it opened. I do get perks based on how much i stay at Marriott’s as i have over 2K lifetime nights with the chain. One of the things i receive is free breakfast and snacks but do to covid they are unable too offer this and this i totally understand. My issue is i went to the restaurant to order just an omelette and the plate with sides is $18.00 before tax and tip. I usually eat a very small breakfast so i ordered the omelette without sides. When they brought it out i questioned the $20.00 charge without tip and was told it was the same with or without sides and there was nothing they could do. I should have been told that when i ordered in the first place. This is crazy its 3 eggs with a little cheese. I totally understand that i would pay more but this was a case of taking advantage of the situation. I let them keep it. Room 101 check out 9/15/20. They lost my loyalty for good.
Seriously off their game.
I’ve been here before and am not sure what’s going on but the service has dropped significantly. Covid has negatively impacted the hotel industry and so perhaps that’s the issue. I’m titanium elite and was not thanked or offered a choice of points or food amenity and certainly not offered an upgrade in what appears to be a fairly empty hotel. The M Club is closed of course but the gentleman at the desk couldn’t tell me if breakfast in the restaurant would be substituted when asked. I asked for a couple of bottles of water, which he didn’t have available but promptly offered to have some sent up. Lucky that he did as when I got to my room, the key didn’t work. I sent a “chat” asking if he would be able to let me in which was ignored. The man that brought water up was kind and did let me in and offered to get the key redone. So, I go in the room and try to wash my hands after my days travel and there are zero toiletries. I called down to request some and 3 hours later, I still have no toiletries. I sent another chat and am still being ignored.
Stay away at all costs!
This by far has to be the WORST hotel experience I've ever had in my life. Ever since we arrived nothing was done right. We got to our room and there were dirty dishes sitting right by our door. There was zero toiletries in our room, we had to request that. Zero ice bucket in our room so we had to request it 3 times until they finally gave us one. Conveniently only one ice maker works in the whole building. Our flat sheet on the bed was ripped. The safe in our room had low batteries so we couldn't use it. The AC in the room doesn't work properly. Our room was never cleaned. And to top it all off nobody answers the front desk or house keeping phones ever. Literally, I beg you, do NOT stay here. Marriott should shut this location down!
Staff are not “present” for guests. No offer of assistance with bags. Couldn’t find the elevators and lots of pointing but no real interest in helping me. Restaurant mediocre. Ordered room service and it didn’t show up. Overall the atmosphere is not inviting. Not a value and won’t return - back to a Hilton for me
I usually stay here overnight when traveling through Birmingham and headed to another destination. It's always been clean and comfortable and met my overnight needs. This time I had cleanliness concerns. Hair was in the sink and all over the shower. As well as mold. There was no way that housekeeping could not see this hair. So this makes me wonder what level of cleaning was actually done throughout the room and bathroom. It's too many health issues/ concerns in today's time for housekeeping to be lackluster. I'm platinum elite and used a free night certificate for this stay. I expressed my concerns to management regarding the cleanliness. Not to get a room comp but to express my concerns about cleanliness and health concerns. Im a nurse and I have just seen too much. Still this person told me that I would get my points back. As of yet that has not happened.
