Amazing Stay at Marival Distinct (Despite So-So Food)
We took our family of 4 to Marival Distinct for my birthday. Kids are 16 and 20, so not the easiest crowd to please. We got a 2-bedroom penthouse with its own rooftop pool, and honestly, it was worth every penny. The Good Stuff (Most Everything!) This place is gorgeous and the staff genuinely seems to care. They invited us to a timeshare meeting the next morning after check-in, we said no thanks, and that was it. No pushy follow-ups. The resort wasn't packed, so we never had to fight for pool chairs or wait forever at restaurants. Our butler, Hector, was incredible. I'm talking above-and-beyond helpful. He answered every random question we threw at him and even suggested and handled the reservations for an amazing ATV tour for us. The guy was a gem. The penthouse was perfect for our family. Everyone had their own space, plus we had ocean and pool views. But here's the real winner - they had a washer and dryer in the room! We brought our own detergent pods and could actually wash our clothes before heading home. No more suitcases full of dirty vacation clothes. That rooftop pool got way more use than I expected. Being on the top floor meant the sun kept it nice and warm most of the day. The sunset views from both the main deck and up there were just stunning. The gym blew me away. Seriously, one of the best hotel gyms I've ever used. I could do my normal workout without having to modify anything. It had almost all of the basic gym machines, a squat rack, free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, and even two Pilates reformers. A couple of times, it got crowded and the power went out briefly, but the staff fixed it right away. Our room was always spotless and stocked with snacks. They don't have bottled water readily available, but there are filtered water pitchers and dispensers nearby, which worked fine. We ordered room service for dinner and breakfast once, and they delivered everything and set it up at our table just like we ordered. There's a small service charge, but it's totally worth it when you're too tired to leave the room. The Not-So-Great The food was... just ok. Breakfast was good - if you go, definitely try the lemon cottage cheese pancakes at Omaggio. But dinner and lunch at the various restaurants (Lemmon Grass, Mozzamare, Omaggio) were pretty forgettable. I had one meal on Italian night at Omaggio that I literally couldn't eat. We checked out a show called "Dancing with the Stars" at their sister resort and ended up leaving early. Maybe little kids would enjoy it, but my teens and husband were rolling their eyes and cracking jokes the whole time. Would I Go Back? Absolutely. Even with the food being kind of disappointing, everything else was so great that I'd definitely return. The service, the room, the facilities - it all made for an amazing birthday celebration.

Great 2 week stay! There were 11 of us total and we had 4 rooms: 2 penthouse suites, 1 two-bedroom and a single bedroom suite. Each were very nice. The beach club was a short walk and was very beautiful. The resort was always very clean. The service was what really made the trip excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and special. Octavio, Carlos, and Lamberto were the best. We had so much with them at the pool and every meal. The ac in our room had issues but they fixed it right away. I give it a 4 instead of a 5 because we go to Mexico every couple of years and have stayed at a few different resorts and for the price, food, drinks, amenities the estancia was better. The service here was excellent though!!

AMAZING
Nicolas, Oscar Omar, Andres Omer, y Fidel Padilla es incredible. They talked to us all night and they are the greatest men to ever live. The BEST bartenders and mi amigos mejor!!
