There are nicer resorts in Punta Cana
The resort grounds were well maintained, the beach was great and cleaned everyday, the food was alright, the hotel was billed as adults only, it was not, there is not a main pool on the grounds, just a series of canals that wind by everyone's room, The entertainment was NOT good, except for the Michael Jackson tribute. The rooms were large, we were confirmed for a king room, were were provided a room with two queen beds. The room smelled musty, then we observed the water coming in from the ceiling, raining down on the night stand. The leak appeared to have been occurring for quite sometime from the damaged wood, (probably mold) The best part of the entire trip was our butler, Lionel Richie he checked in with us daily, even attempted to get the leak fixed, we were traveling with a large group and Lionel Richie was able to get reservations in every restaurant we asked for
Best all inclusive we have been to.
Room was great, we had a swim out / food was great, very good ribeye steak. I had 3 over 7 days, and 2 beef tender filets/ service was great/ the whole week was great! This is not your average all inclusive. Hats off to Majestic Mirage!
MONEY STOLEN FROM LOCKED SAFE
The majestic mirage was anything but majestic. We stayed at the majestic mirage from 3/11/2023 to 3/18/2023 in one of the swim-up suites. The first part of our stay was okay the grounds are very nice but looks can be deceiving because the staff only has self-interest in mind and only cares about money. Toward the end of our stay, my family and I went to dinner and two hours later we returned to our room to notice that our safe had been broken into and our money was stolen out of the safe, a total of $1150. The safe also was not working properly when we returned almost like it was tampered with. We tried to contact our butler at that time but there was no response (earlier in the week he was very good at answering). We then headed to guest services where we filled out an incident report and security was called. The security guard did not speak any English, so he came back to our room to “start an investigation”. He looked around our room and a translator then came and started to ask questions. The questions were implicating that we had stolen our own money, and they were clearly trying to catch us in a lie. The security guard then started to search the bags and room for the stolen money. I understand an investigation needs to be done but no reassurance was made during the process. Someone else then came to the room to collect the data from the doors and safe looking for who accessed it last they also fixed the safe because it had been broken from being tampered with. After this, we were told that we would have an answer in 24-48 hours and the staff would reach out to us. We were supposed to be leaving within the next 48 hours and we expressed our concern that we would need an answer before we left, we were assured that we would indeed have an answer in 24-48 hours. No one reached out to us, and there was no conclusion in the supposed “investigation” before we left. We had approached the hotel multiple times before we left and were given NO information. There was absolutely no effort by the hotel to reassure that this was a priority. We were told that the safe was our responsibility and our property is not their responsibility. Anyone at any time can access your room and take whatever they want (even if it is not in the safe), and the hotel does not take any responsibility. We were made out to be liars and the fact that the safe was broken and an employee needed to fix it after it had been broken into was completely denied like it never happened which seems like an important detail in the so-called investigation. The safe entry information was given to us after we insisted they give us the information and it stated that we were the last ones to open the safe, but if the safe was broken into then there would probably be no record of someone else opening it. Our butler (lleus) went missing for the rest of our stay and when told about the situation he did not seem surprised. Our butler also happened to know exactly where we would be and the cues that were given during our conversation screamed guilty to me. Our travel agency was informed and it was recommended that we file a police report, so we asked the hotel to have the police come, but we were told that isn’t going to happen and we would need to go there ourselves offsite, which it is completely unsafe to leave the resort. Our travel agency has emailed the resort about the situation and has not heard anything back. I started to research and read other reviews and this is NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, there are several different stories of the exact same thing happening to other guests. The bottom line of the situation is the resort does not prioritize the guests and they do not take these situations seriously. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that one of their staff members was responsible for the missing money, and yet no responsibility is taken. This is not a safe resort and I would NEVER recommend anyone goes here.
The staff is amazing! Our bartender Julio made our nightlife top notch! He was always coming up with new drinks to try which were delicious every single time. He really made our night. We felt like we knew him forever. Olga's went above and beyond to make sure we got into the Japanese restaurant which was already completely booked up. From everyone maintaining the grounds, to servers at all meals we were treated like royalty. We will definitely be back for a third time!
Another Fantastic Visit
This was our 6th visit to the Mirage and the best! We requested Yenny as our butler and she was fantastic. She took care of any reservations we needed and when my dad was sick she came to the room and checked on him. Yenny was able to reserve the gazebo for dinner for us so we could celebrate my parents 6oth anniversary. The entire staff was outstanding. We especially enjoyed Omar and Daysi at the pool bar. We ate several times at the steakhouse and really liked the tenderloin and the fried chicken. The lasagna was good at the Italian restaurant. Super Dario waited on us at the several restaurants and he was fun. Raul, one of the managers, was very nice and checked on us several times to make sure we were having a good time. The food and beverage staff was excellent and very friendly - hostess Olga always had a smile. No vacation at the Mirage would be complete with mentioning Juan Bernardo at the pool. He remembers your name and is so kind and will go out of his way to do anything for you. Santos also works at the pool and is so interesting to talk to and a fantastic worker. I left my laptop setup in my room while I was at the pool and did not have any issues. We can't wait for our next trip.
