The best.
This hotel is a truly amazing place. The staff greets you with sincere warmth and kindness at every encounter. The building is gorgeous and there isn’t a better location for enjoying Telluride. Highly recommend staying here. And if you are traveling with your dog they are incredibly friendly to your four legged family members.

From Retreat to Regret: A Disgraceful Five-Star Experience Marked by False Promises and Mishandled Service
What was meant to be a time to relax, unwind, recoup, and recharge turned into a complete nightmare filled with regret, disappointment, and frustration, at what is supposed to be a five-star resort. From start to finish, the experience was riddled with oversight, poor communication, and a total lack of follow-through on promises made by the staff. The way issues were handled, or more accurately, mishandled, only made matters worse. Every opportunity to correct mistakes or show even the most basic level of hospitality was ignored or brushed aside. The repeated assurance that things would “be better” was nothing more than empty words. Instead of feeling valued as guests, we were left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and deeply dissatisfied. This was, without question, the worst five-star hotel experience we’ve ever encountered. What should have been a peaceful and rejuvenating stay has instead left us with lasting disappointment and a strong reluctance to ever return, or recommend this property to anyone.

The only hotel we will stay at in Telluride
The Madeline is the only hotel we will stay at when visiting Telluride and the Mountain Village. From the minute we arrived in the car port, we were greeted warmly by the valet staff and didn’t need to lift a finger. The reception desk offered us champagne, beer or water and check-in was efficient and pleasant. The rooms are always spotless as well as the entire hotel. The service is friendly and the food excellent at the Black Iron restaurant. I have never had any complaints at all at the Madeline!

Elevated Escape with Room to Grow
The Madeline Hotel is a stunning mountain retreat that blends natural beauty with modern comfort. Perfectly situated in the heart of Mountain Village, it offers seamless access to the slopes and panoramic views that feel lifted from a postcard. The design is sophisticated yet warm, with alpine touches that never feel forced. Service is gracious and attentive, and the overall atmosphere is both inviting and elevated. That said, the hotel stops just short of delivering a true five-star experience. Certain amenities, from the spa to in-room details, lack the refinement and seamless execution expected at the highest tier of luxury hospitality. Still, the location alone is worth the stay, and the charm of Telluride is enhanced by the hotel’s welcoming presence. As an experienced luxury traveler, I found it to be a memorable and enjoyable stay. I would absolutely return, with the hope that a few thoughtful upgrades are on the horizon.
