My daughter and I wanted a quieter and relaxing trip. We thought the upgrade to Unique was well worth the price. The swim up room was beautiful and my daughter loved relaxing outside by the swim up pool after spending the day on the beach. I loved the quiet breakfasts in the morning at the Unique breakfast buffet. The views were beautiful too. The Unique beach area was easy to find chairs. The Unique pool area was also quiet and relaxing when we wanted a break from the beach later in the afternoon. But what really made the Unique upgrade worth it was our butler Oliver. He made all our reservations for dinner right when we checked in. He was even able to get us a dinner reservation our fist night at the steak restaurant which I heard was tough to get. He was at breakfast or the beach in the morning checking to see how things were going and if we needed anything. He made sure we had our favorite drinks in the room and got us a bottle of champagne for the room. He helped with checkout and getting us a taxi and check in with us throughout our whole stay on the whats app. He really made the stay relaxing and enjoyable and worth the upgrade.

Apr 21, 2025A Good Time If You Know What To Avoid
The Good: The pool, beach, ocean water, hotel grounds, and inside decor, safety of the area, friendliness of staff are all top notch and the reason you go to Lopesan. My kids would say to go for the cats (saw at least 10-20 different ones... the friendliest mom ever let everyone pet and hold her 5 kittens! The Bad: DO NOT stay on the south side of the hotel (tropical rooms) facing the open alley. 30 feet from the rooms is not their property, and there happen to be 3-5 roosters on the property. Every morning at 5:30a they woke us up. After the 2nd night, we used a loud fan sound from a 10-hour-long YouTube video, which helped. There is also a dog that barks a lot. DO NOT downgrade your room if they ask you. We did switch from ocean view to tropical view in exchange for the UNIQUE upgrade because they overbooked the ocean view rooms. In addition to the animal noise room, we didn't get any of the in-room UNIQUE benefits we were promised until our last day. And that was only because we spent 2 hours of our vaca at the main desk complaining. The night before we left, they sent chocolates and the UNIQUE fruit welcome platter (which was appreciated) but when we returned from dinner, it was covered in tiny ants, so we had to throw it away. Ants only came out when we left any food or drinks out on the counter (room 4088). DO NOT expect great food, and if you read enough reviews a lot of people say the same thing. Some of it is good, but nothing was great. DO NOT expect to get a good seat at the pool unless you put your stuff down before 8a. I went every morning at 7:30a and had plenty to pick from. DO NOT bring teens thinking the Teen Club will be a hangout for them to make friends. Was empty 2x we went. DO BRING damp rid to absorb smell and moisture in the rooms. We brought 2 based on other reviews, and glad we did. Other stuff: The Escape Room on property and a Capa Cana fishing charter were big family hits. (Fishing Machine Charter) We did not enjoy the Arcade and Bowling (strings on pins) Overall, we had a good vacation, and if we did it again, we would do the UNIQUE oceanview on the 3rd or 4th floor. Spoke to 2 people in 2nd-floor ocean rooms, and both could barely see the ocean through the palm trees. The Unique package is barely worth it if you have to pay for it, but having the UNIQUE only beach bar right next to the main pool was a big plus.

We did not receive the room we booked. We had people sleep on what we were told was a “pull out sofa bed” that did not pull out and we were not given additional bedding as promised. We moved rooms 3 times and had the ceiling leaking onto the bed causing a room change in the middle of the night. Staff and management just kept telling lies to get you to go away and had zero accountability for the poor quality and service. Completely ruined the entire vacation and I’m not sure how they have a 5 star.
