Hotel requires a credit/debit card authorization or cash deposit upon check-in for incidentals; this will place a hold on your funds. The hotel will place an authorization on the guest’s credit card in the amount of $100 per day based on the number of days the guest is staying. This authorization is from the credit card’s available credit limit. Once the actual amount of the incidentals is charged, the remainder is then released within 2-10 days.

Nice hotel, unfriendly staff
The hotel for the price was in average condition but what you would normally see for something less expensive in my room. The guest attendant rolled her eyes at me when I checked in. Not a good first impression. Then at the beach, I couldn’t get food service but then I walked to the beach hut and their were 4 guys standing around. Instead of helping me they told me to go try the tiki bar. This is why I gave a 3. I don’t need to feel like I’m doing the employees a disservice by being a customer.
Lovely Hotel and Amazing Staff
I am currently at the LaPlaya sitting on their beautiful beach. I booked this hotel due to other reviews and I am glad I did! Such personal touches as the valet calls you by first name when he sees you in the hallway. I have stayed at 4 star and 5 star hotels before and the Laplaya, though an older establishment, everything has been great and exceeded my expectations from the moment we arrived.
5 days. Dinner on the beach. Friendly staff. Area beautiful. Coastline walks were very relaxing and peaceful. Mostly couples a few families with younger kids. Jet ski, kayaks, and other accessories available for getting out.
Tropical, luxurious perfection
We enjoyed every aspect of La Playa. Absolutely fantastic property, location and staff are the best in south Florida. We chose this property over other competitively priced properties because the low-key boutique feel and direct beach access, but we loved the friendly staff, food and incredible service. This is what value looks like.
My husband and I drove to Naples from Miami to celebrate our anniversary. It would be our first getaway since the pandemic and we were really looking forward to a weekend without the kids. We booked on American Express Fine hotel & Resorts so our expectations were high. Too bad it wasn’t met. Immediately upon check in I noticed an employee with a mask dangling from his ears. This trend continued throughout the weekend. Housekeepers with masks hanging down, most of the staff at the tiki bar were not wearing masks, half of the valets were not wearing masks, the staff at the beach wasn’t wearing masks. At times, it seemed like more guests than staff were taking masks seriously. At the restaurant baleens, even though a sign said masks required by law, I saw two parties in front of us check in without masks and no one asked them to put some on. Aside from masks, the hotel property is dated. We booked lanai rooms as it was advertised as beachfront and the nicest rooms they offered. The rooms were dated, small, we had to let the shower run for a few minutes to get hot water. The rug in the bathroom was too thick so it was difficult to close the bathroom door. And to make matters worse, the walls were so thin We felt like we were sleeping with our neighbors. The beach was indeed beautiful. Although super crowded, and baleens was delicious. Other than that, for the high price and the risk of getting COVID, I would have preferred the Ritz down the street.
