Cabin meets Urban -Valet closed - Free Parking -Secret gift
This was a very nice and clean hotel right by Denver's Union Station. It had wooden doors with a light stain like a cabin. In the room there were wood features with exposed concrete making it feel like you were in a Cabin but also in The City. Valet is currently closed due to Covid-19 but on the plus side we got free parking. The parking lot is right under the hotel but you have to take 3 lefts and 1 right to get there. The last turn is right before the Bank of America sign on 16th st Mall. There is currently one elevator in service at the time of the stay. Due to Covid-19 only 3-4 people can get in elevator and since one elevator was in service it was quite difficult to catch it down but no problem catching it up from the ground level. The elevator whirrs sort of loudly, luckily we did not stay near it. The staff at the hotel was very welcoming. Make sure to mention the Kimpton secret gift phrase which was "Road Trip" for a bottle of wine, 2 beers, or some snacks.
Excellent Covid policies and super clean!
We’ve been eyeing this hotel for several years. We finally decided to give it a shot. Our main reason we like this hotel is it’s location at the end of the tracks at Union Station downtown Denver. It’s also located next our favorite Italian restaurant in Denver Tavernetta . Also our 25th Anniversary date night! When we walked in right away we could tell how nice it was going to be and very clean. I really enjoyed their art decor through out the hotel. Check in and out was very easy. Staff did great job social distancing and were very friendly and helpful. There’s 2 nice lounge areas in lobby. They also have what looked like a nice restaurant . We only had OK coffee in the morning before we caught the train home. We got a nice end King bed Suite 701 with the soaking tub. Walked in and greeted with a very nice size bathroom with soaking tub, large shower, separate toilet and ranch style door. Very clean! Room was also a comfortable size room. Good size desk and chair. Another nice chair for chilling out. King bed was firm but comfortable with great pillows ( they sell ). Closet was typical with luggage rack, iron & board, safe, mini fridge and an umbrella also with ranch style door. Power ports in all the right places. Next to bed was a easy to use with instruction card Marley Bluetooth speaker. Nice tv but not really HDMI friendly. Made it work anyway. We had two windows. One with view of Mile high stadium and of 16st . We did use the soaking tub and it felt great. Very nice room! Over all we had a really nice date night. Excellent location with great variety and easy access to variety of shops and restaurants . 16 st buses are free. There’s bikes, scooters and at Union Station Uber/ Lyft pick up drop off. Close to Coors field where the Rockies play. We’ll definitely stay here again.
Beatiful hotel, great staff, but - very thin walls
The hotel is beautiful and the room was very clean. The hotel front desk very helpful. We very much appreciated that they let us store our bags few days later - when we were staying in a different city but were coming back through Denver for our late flight. The location is great - close to the train station (train to the airport) and many food places, across one of Denver parks. Bed is very comfortable to sleep in. However, there was one thing that could be improved and one - that I am not sure that could. 1) There was no information about Denver - that hotels usually have. I think it would be great if you had brochures and map, which are available thru Tourist Office. Or at least a book about Denver. There were many art books, which were not very useful to us, but no Denver or Colorado book. 2) Very thin walls. We could hear our neighbours talking and this was not a pleasant experience. It woke us up in the morning and we had to ask for them to turn their music down when we wanted to sleep - and the music was not very loud, just the walls were too thin. Overall we liked the hotel and its staff, but did not appreciate the thin walls.
Great Covid Policies
I have had a good experience at this hotel. My cat and I were welcomed by the staff and check in was relatively easy. I’m currently in a cross country road trip to move and must say this is the best Covid hotel I’ve found. There is sanitized and tissues and the elevator and the building is clean. Thank you for making my travel a little easier!
High Rise and a Little Inconvenient
Location in convenient but many transients around and is next to train station. Many restaurants and cafes around. A little tough with a dog because of the elevator and walk to green space. Nice and clean though.
