Perfect July weather for 3 night visit. Stayed in lakeside condos. Limited services due to COVID-19 but nice Plesant service. Gondola ride and visit to summit was spectacular. Condo was nice and comfortable. Grounds were well maintained. Along river was paved bike/walkways.
A beautiful mountain resort.
The Keystone Lodge & Spa is a wonderful amenity for Keystone Resort, whether you are skiing or enjoying the summer activities. There is adequate bus transportation to the ski area and a complimentary shuttle on call. There is very nice pool and both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. There are several excellent restaurants on site as well. A great spot for families.
Not worth the hassle!
I have to echo the other reviews...tired and old hotel. Nothing works, from phones to lights on the elevators. Extremely loud at night and can hear everything. Staff is unhelpful and uninformed. Did not get the proper room we booked because they were “sold out” despite us booking in early Fall. No reasonable healthy food options on site. Had to ask the front desk to get room cleaned. Bathroom has a hole in the wall. Luckily we brought our own coffee set up because options here are few.
Tired old hotel with unfriendly staff and poor housekeeping
We stayed four nights and finally after returning on the third day called and asked that our bathroom be actually cleaned. (There was hair on the floor when we arrived.) The sink had been left with coffee splashes, vanity not wiped and tub not cleaned. Room was not vacuumed until we specifically requested it. (Bathroom floor was never cleaned). The staff was generally not friendly...questions were answered but that was it. No friendliness. No bathrobes are provided so it is very awkward to use the pool/spa facilities as we had packed skiwear and not coverups etc. This is billed as a spa....where are the bathrobes? Other guests who had stayed there before stated that robes had previously been provided. We asked if we could borrow robes from the spa but the answer was no. Shower head was a low flow fine mist. Hardly relaxing after a day of skiing. Not a four star experience. What is the $30/night resort fee for???
Rocky start, but made it right!
We booked 2 nights in a Lodge King room over President's Day weekend for a romantic getaway with my husband to celebrate our 10yr anniversary. When we checked in at around 6pm we were told that there weren't rooms available in the main lodge but that they were placing us in the Saints John's condos--bigger rooms with a kitchen, across the street about a 1/2 mile. Overbooking in Keystone was an issue this weekend (overheard some staff discussing the issue), so multiple hotels were diverting guests to Keystone Lodge and Spa and the condos as their solution. It wasn't ideal, but didn't sound bad assuming it would match the quality of the hotel we had booked. The Saints John's condos did not. The condo that we were given was dated (1980's?) and not kept up like I would expect a 4 star hotel accommodation substitute would (old stained carpets, almost every table was old with scratches all over them, bathroom was tiny, cold, and drafty, and the floors weren't as clean as I expect them to be). I was very disappointed and after going to dinner with my husband I decided that I would try to see if they could put us into the main hotel with the Lodge King room like we had originally booked. I talked with Zachary, who had originally checked us in and explained our situation and he understood and was was very amenable to rectifying the situation. They couldn't put us in the main lodge for our first night, but he put a hold on a Mountain View King (an upgrade from our original room) with a balcony overlooking the heated pool for us on the second night, made dinner reservations in the Bighorn Bistro (delicious!) and comped our dinner. If you stay in the main lodge, the rooms are beautiful, just like the internet pictures show. Rooms are modern, very comfortable, most importantly--clean, and they think of everything! Plenty of coffee, filtered water in glass refillable containers to reduce plastic use, mini fridge, and even a portable fan! We really enjoyed our time at the actual lodge and wished we would have gotten our full stay from the beginning. Bottom line--stay here, it's wonderful, the staff really are amazing and try to make sure you have a great stay (Thank you Zachary!). Just don't let them put you in the Saints John's condos. Not comparable to the Keystone Lodge & Spa!
