Had a really great trip here! The staff really make the trip worth while. Some staff in particular; Chino and Emmanual- beach men Cristian - best dancer Estephana - Also best dancer Miguel - Cart driver Robert - Club representative Mario - best bartender Eliver and Jose - cart drivers Alfedo - best Sommelier Jorge and Wendy - fit and fun Marcus - tennis instructor Omar - smoke house manager Thank you to all these staff and the many others whom make this resort awesome!

First trip, Iberostar Waves Tucan exceeded our expectations!
My husband and I went through several different travel agents and booked several hotels (all we cancelled) except for Iberostar Waves Tucan. Everything was perfect! This was our first trip with our 6 year old son and we were NERVOUS (we brought my mom a long to let her experience a vacation too). However, when we arrived, our private shuttle to the hotel was easy to find, clean, and comfortable. Now, we get to the good stuff. Showing up to the hotel, the front staff was helpful, kind, and welcoming. The grounds were one of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced outside of Hawaii! I'm a big plant, nature, and animal lover and this place was filled with unique, gorgeous, greenery and fun little creatures. The hotel is very eco-friendly, which was very important to us when choosing a hotel. The hotel was slightly dated but still beautiful and clean! The food was OUTSTANDING! And the staff was above and beyond the best! To point out one staff member at the Tucan buffet, there was a gentleman named Ricardo. This man was AMAZING! He was the nicest person we have ever met at any hotel in any city, state, or country! He was so kind and silly with our son and we will ALWAYS remember him! He was so great that we said goodbye on our last night and were actually a little bummed that we had to leave him! If you decide to book with this awesome hotel, make sure to meet Ricardo! If you don't get to meet him, just know that ALL THE STAFF WAS OUTSTANDING!

Great Rest and Amazing Daniel
This is like the 10th time we come in and we just love this resort. The beach is awesome, the employees are professional and customer centric, and food is of great quality. We enjoy the beach, pool and the shows are really entertaining. Everyone here goes the extra mile it seems which is why we just seem to decide on this resort every time for the last few years. We did have an issue this time with our reservation (our fault) and Daniel from front desk took ownership of the issue even though it was our fault and rectified it quickly. I later asked Daniel why he put the extra efforts and his response was we want you to have a great experience at our resort and that he felt we were disappointed so he wanted to change that. To me, this guy is a super employee. Wow.

Had a great time at this hotel. Stayed for 4 nights. The jungle feel is great and it was lovely to see the peacocks, howler monkeys, coatis each day. The pool is lovely - just the right temperature - and it was easy enough to get beds, as long as you got there before 10am. The beach is huge, the sand is pure white and the sea is beautiful and warm. Bliss. The activity programme is excellent . So much to do. My teenagers and I all joined in as much as we could and had great fun. The activity team is excellent, especially Victor and Brandy. The reasons I didn’t give it 5 stars are that 1) the bedrooms were a little dated (still nice though), 2) even though we only stayed for 4 nights we grew tired of the buffet restaurant. We did eat in the Italian and Japanese as well but having every other meal in the buffet just seemed dull! The food was fine but would have been nice to have a wider selection of restaurant choices. 3) the tennis rackets we borrowed were awful. 4) the evening entertainment (the shows) were only “ok” but we aren’t really the kind of people to watch evening shows anyway so that didn’t ruin anything. All in all I would recommend this hotel. We had a great time. It was a lovely end to a fabulous trip to Mexico

Great resort
I stayed her for 2 weeks over Christmas. Pros Great location in secure gated zone Lots of on-site dining options Jungle in middle of resort was fab Beach location was great Pool is huge Drinking water machine on each floor is handy! Bellboys/porters were friendly Appreciated they didn’t push timeshare pitch after first ‘no’ Christmas Eve buffet was good. Plenty of sun loungers Cons Outdated rooms but I knew that on booking and I was ok with that. External tour rep/taxi transfer based in foyer I found rude after he realised I booked trips elsewhere. Calling my room to say come to desk and confirm return transfer day after arrival. Only to get there and discover I only need to confirm day before leaving . Do try to sell me tours but honesty getting me to the desk would work better. (I booked two through the hotel tour desk rep and the rest online direct with attractions) The evening entertainment wasn’t to my taste but I can see it’s great for families with children. Overall I would stay again.
