    Worst service resort to date

I’ve traveled quite a bit and I only do resorts... I tried this one and when I tell you it is the lowest ranked resort on my list. The food is not good, the front desk staff ignore you and your phone calls, room and guest services are terrible the never answered the phone or flat out ignored you. The bell hops are THE WORST!! The bell hops Jorge, Alex and Willbirth lied and caused a major disruption in my travel. I have never been to a resort where the staff lies and are outright disrespectful!! I do NOT recommend it’s cheap and discounted for a reason. And some of these reviews are FAKE!

    Hurricane Delta adventure!!

My husband and I went to this beautiful resort on 10/5/20. Our Amstar driver, Jose, was awesome and even had cold Coronas waiting in the van for us! Us and our luggage were immediately sanitized and we had a temperature check. This resort was beautiful!! Everything in our short stay at this resort was perfect. The beach was a little rough, but that was probably because of the hurricane brewing out in the ocean. The following morning we were told we’d be evacuated to a different Iberostar later that day. The staff did the best they could at informing everyone of the situation, where they were taking us, what to bring, etc. They answered everyone’s questions the best they could and handled some angry people really well! We were told we were going to Iberostar Paraiso. What they didn’t tell us at first is that we were all going to be spending the night in a huge conference center on beach chairs. And I am 100% happy that they didn’t tell people that up front! I can’t imagine the panic that would’ve happened so thank you to the staff for being smart about that! My husband and I realized that we still had about 4 hours before leaving so us, along with some other awesome people we met, had an impromptu pre hurricane party in the pool! They kept the lobby bar opened till the buses left at 2pm! The main pool at this resort is a HUGE reason why we’ll be back! It’s absolutely beautiful! After many drinks and laughs we were taken to the other resort. The staff handled everyone’s luggage (which was a super well organized process), and sent us all to the buffet to eat. We then walked over to the conference center where they were already putting steel on the doors and windows. There were hundreds of beach chairs with blankets and pillows. Everyone picked their spots and that is where we stayed for the next 24 hours. We were allowed outside til 10pm, they had coffee and water, bagged meals, and even kids movies playing. The staff were so wonderful!!! I talked to quite a few, and they were running on barely any sleep, were away from their own homes and families, but still had smiles on their faces when approached by a guest. And 95% of the guests were wonderful about everything as well. The children were all honestly some the best behaved kids I’ve ever seen. After a sleepless night with about 700 other people, the staff started making announcements as they got the information, and we were eventually let out of the building and taken to Iberostar Tucan. We only got to spend one night at Iberostar Selection, but we will definitely be back!! The resort itself was absolutely amazing and I owe the staff a giant face to face THANK YOU for making the best of a bad situation and keeping us all safe.

Our stay at Iberostar Selection was amazing for us. Honestly, we had just missed the Hurricane by a few days.

Our stay at Iberostar Selection Cancun was amazing and beautiful for us. This hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Honestly, we had just missed the Hurricane by a few days and we can't imagine what some people may have had to encounter. Iberostar Selection Cancun is a great hotel. All the staff was very nice and kind to us. They all wore masks, they had hand sanitizer in lots of locations. They checked temperatures at the main entrance, sprayed luggage at arrival, and had hand sanitizer there too. Just a special thank you to Miguel for making our stay extra special. He went above and beyond and booked our reservations ahead of time and he had the best Customer Service. We will continue to stay at Iberostar's Resorts. The food at all restaurants were great. Not a fan of the buffet. Oh, and the beach was beautiful and clean.

Even with all the challenges, at the end they delivered.

We have a pretty bad first impression. Due to the hurricane affecting the hotel our property was change to Riviera Maya (from Cancun). We had expectations already about the room and the size of the hotel, that the Riviera Maya Hotel couldn’t meet. We were not looking for a huge property since we have toddler and baby with us, and we wanted a Oceanfront room. As we got to Riviera Maya, with all the logistic that that takes, we were informed that they switch us back to Cancun, and had to drive another 45 min. Long story short, the hotel refund this issue, the hotel was not ready for guest the first day, they were improvising services, and everything..... But in two days they catch up to the challenges and start delivering great food, services, attention, and demonstrate how great they can be. Even while having construction, maintenance, and more going for day and night (3 Restaurants were damaged) we were totally satisfied with the options and the working didn’t was on our way to enjoy the beautiful location. We recommend this hotel. The staf at the Star Camp are great and our 4 y/o loved it. The chef were constantly precent and willing to go the extra mile. The servers were on point and super accessible.

    Horrible vacation - so disappointing

I had a reservation and the hurricane caused them to cancel my stay - refunded my money no problem - 24 hours before my stay they called said they restored that portion of hotel - I confirmed I would get the same room for what I was paying and they assured me yes - they charged me - when I got to the hotel they said the room was not available due to hurricane and put me in a downgraded room - hotel could do nothing about refunding the difference so they gave me a number to call - never was able to make a connection so they gave me an email address - never heard back - they owe me a few hundred $ - I made dinner reservations on the app they have - they messed up the time and dates even after I showed them the conversation and they agreed they were wrong they still sent me away from the restaurant I was supposed to be at with 9 open tables and only 3 tables full in the restaurant - nonstop disappointment- I always thought in upscale hotels they made it right when they were wrong - not here they send you to corporate who does not respond, that is the worst feeling when you are frustrated worst solo vacation ever - super sad I stayed here
