Not What We Expected
The property itself was visually stunning, the customer service was exceptional at check-in, the bartender at dinner was funny, attentive, and very helpful with food selection, and the food was delicious. The room, an upgraded corner room with full window views of the river, was also visually stunning…and filthy. While we had clean sheets and towels, the floors were filthy (hair and food remnants everywhere), breakfast crumbs and drink rings on the table, bathroom floor had dried “splash” around the toilet, and the shower was so disgusting, we didn’t feel comfortable using it (hairs everywhere, hair pins in the drain, and a white substance smeared on the shower door).

Charging guests for parking is just lame and leaves a sour impression.
We were disappointed to be charged $15 per day for parking at the hotel—especially considering the garage was far from full and there is absolutely nothing going on in downtown Wichita. At a rate of $255 per night, it felt like an unnecessary and frustrating upcharge just to stay at the hotel. For that price, we expected better value and a more guest-friendly policy. Charging guests for parking in a nearly empty lot in a quiet downtown is just lame and leaves a sour impression.

Disappointed – Bedbugs Ruined Our Stay
We had a great experience when we stayed at this hotel for New Year’s—we loved our corner room so much that I immediately booked again for July 4th as a special treat for my family to watch the fireworks. Unfortunately, our second stay was incredibly disappointing. That night, bedbugs appeared in our room. We contacted the front desk right away, and while they did switch our room, it was to a significantly lower-value option than what we had originally paid for. The entire ordeal caused us to lose sleep, and we were left feeling uncomfortable and frustrated. We were told a manager would contact us, but no one ever did. After following up ourselves, we finally received a call from Nina, who apologized but said there wasn’t much she could do. She even implied that guests sometimes bring bedbugs—an unfair and unhelpful suggestion, especially given the clear evidence we have on video of an active infestation. This experience was extremely disappointing, especially after such a great first visit. We expected more in terms of both cleanliness and customer care.

Nice, clean hotel in great location with nice views
The Hyatt Regency is a nice, clean hotel. The staff is very friendly. The views from the 18 story hotel are wonderful. There are also some great walking paths along the river.

Nice stay in Wichita
Really nice hotel. Feels very new and classy. Room was recently remodeled. They finish in August 2025, so there were some construction during the day. Convenient location, right across the river from baseball stadium. Close to downtown. Staff was friendly as well
