    Mixed bag

Great location for Waikiki, but parking is time intensive, elevators are slow, the breakfast in the club lounge is blah, the pool is tiny, the rooms and hotel are dated, the business center stinks of must/mold, but the staff are great/hospitable, professional and friendly.

The glamour has faded at this resort, it's tired and so are the staff.

Having stayed at this resort 6 years ago, i expected to enjoy my stay and have no issues, but I was wrong. From the start, our checkin was done by a staff member with an attitude who was talking through a speaker and a face mask. As a person with a certified Service dog (Assistance Dog) I was shocked to be asked to sign a pet form that outlined cleaning fees and made it clear that my dog was not allowed in any restaraunts or bars etc. I challenged this, as it is against the law, and the staff member decided to escalate the matter to the Front Office Manager Nick, who also came out with a poor attitude arguing with me and saying "do you want me to cross out pet and put service dog on the form?". This angered me as it was both wrong and discriminatory. After telling the Front Office Manger to go and find a computer to look up the law and come back and apologise, he did. To his credit, he apologised, but the damage and the bad taste had already been done. From there we were given a room looking at the carpark with cars lights shinning in our room all night for 2 weeks. The hotel is run down and in need of serious maintenace or an overhaul. It has obviously changed ownership since last time I stayed even though it still carries the Hyatt moniker, it isn't up to the standard anymore. A lot of the shops are vacant and the pool area is entirely to small for such a large volume of rooms. On a positive note, the breakfast staff are very friendly and helpful, as are the housekeeping and late night staff. I highly recomend staying at a different hotel not this one. The location is great, but doesn't compensate enough for the downsides of this hotel.

Disappointing Stay at Hyatt Regency – Outdated, Unclean, and Poor Service

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Hyatt Regency. The food was both overpriced and awful—my pizza was burned, and the fries were unappetizing. The cleanliness was also unacceptable; the bathroom had hair from the previous guest, and the toilet seat had visible yellow stains. The furniture desperately needs an update. It’s old and outdated, making me feel like I’ve stepped back into the 1980s. To make matters worse, the check-in staff was unfriendly. One staff member even pointed out that I used points to redeem my stay, as if it were a freebie. Accumulating points costs money, so I found this comment unprofessional and unnecessary. Overall, I’m very disappointed and would not recommend this hotel.

    Good choice in Waikiki

This hotel is in a prime location directly across the street from the beach. There is an open-air mall between the two hotel towers. In-room amenities are nice (although the furniture is dated). Comfortable beds. Would stay here again. Only one complaint and that is there are not enough elevators and at peak times there were often lines at the elevators.

Good Location. Nice Hotel. Fun Place

Great location in Waikiki, everything is close by (walkable) if you plan to stay in Waikiki only. Decent hotel stay. Beaches are right across the street. Plenty of beach activities and tons of shops from very high end luxury to everything aka ABC world - you'll know if you stayed there :) Don't fret if you didn't plan any activities prior to coming, the Hotel has concierge service to book island activities (a bit $$ though for convenience). We did see the Nā Lei Aloha dance show with dinner at the hotel. It was a good experience. Overall it is a great place to relax and the island has some of the best beaches around if you want to explore, especially for surfing. Also, when booking if you happen to get a breakfast package - take it! The daily breakfast is expensive at the hotel. Overall, enjoy the blue waters, the variety tropical fruits (yummy) and the coffee.
