    Great getaway during Covid-19

Great place to celebrate, relax and enjoy while easily social distancing. Family friendly atmosphere and activities in addition to adults only pool area. Great drinks and food service at pool. Enjoyed dinner on the restaurant patio.

    Family get away

Great place to get away for a few days and not a bad drive if you live in north/central Texas. Lots of things to do for all family members including golf, movie nights, lazy river, a variety of restaurants and open property space just to walk around.

    Quick weekend getaway

Resort is amazing and Beautiful we are planing to come back with more folks. They say stocked pond to fish but as an avid fisherman I was really looking forward to the guy part of the trip while the wife read her books at the pool. Only fish I saw was perch eating by the fish feeder (where they sell family fishing experience) and Alligator gar hitting the water. I paid a premium to stay here, a plus when booking was fish our stocked lake. They should really hire a lake management company to stock it with largemouth bass, catfish and ample bait fish for a great fish ecosystem. Me and the Wife agreed in the mornings I would fish and catch some decent fish catch and release and she would read her book then spend the rest of day at pool. 3 hours both mornings not even a bite or a fish hitting the top of water exept the alligator gar which is a fish eating nuisance by the way. Also i was excited to be able to fish the Colorado river which the resort is on but you cant even get to the river except one spot?!? Build a world class resort on the river and yet the brush and grass is so grown up to even see it. Clear out the brush and mow the grass like rest of resort for it to be used. Why build it on the river and not even be able to see the river? Could have just built it in a cow pasture. Was hoping for a larger Adults only area and pool with amenities but its just a little circle area off the lazy river. We have kids and love them and doing trips with them but sometimes parents need a getaway area with no kids. A larger adults pool and section with adults only area bar outdoor TV's would be a huge marketing plus. We travel out of the country to many adults only type all inclusive resorts for some of these reasons. With the crazy world today I was hoping for more of this at a local resort for the money it cost to stay. Golf course is amazing but i feel if you spend $500 a night they could give better discounts on golf instead I paid another $110 for green fees which seems normal for a nice course like this but i feel they could do better for the guest rather than just a day golfer driving in from Austin. Hotel and rooms were perfect. Food was great. Drinks way overpriced but I get it im at a resort(Double Crown and ginger ale $22.00!!! When the entire bottle cost $30 We plan to come back soon and many times especially if they can get the river opened up and get the lake Professorially managed and stocked, if they have already they need to hire someone else

Have frequented this property many times and it used to be a 5. From being lectured about mask wearing, mediocre food and valet bringing me someone else's vehicle, not once, but twice, I don't really recommend at this point.

Let’s just say.. Gorgeous but not old folks amenable

My rating is low, because it didn’t meet our needs. I called 4 days before evacuating my 91 yr old Dad ahead of a hurricane in the gulf. Made reservations for suite near desk and hub of activity. He’s on a walker and can’t walk that far. 2 days before arriving I called back to lengthen our stay and reiterated my needs. They were noted on my reservation. Arrived exhausted and told 2nd floor. Nope, then given a room on first floor but this is a huge property. The walk to anything was a long way. After getting in our room, I put him down for a nap and went back to ask for a suite closer, bigger suite, smaller room. Anything that might make our stay easier. Nope, nothing closer. We stayed, it was too hard to move him even if there was another room in Bastrop and there wasn’t. 2nd problem, comfort. Chairs are low riders and at 91 try and get out of that and 4 straight chairs with the table. Addressed this with housekeeping and they couldn’t help, finally the front desk folks and the sweet valet guy Zack, got us a desk chair that would adjust higher. Couch bed was terribly uncomfortable so I ask for waffle pad or something but nope, finally settled on a rollaway. My sweet front desk clerk Diana was a God send, she tried to help and give us some love. That was the sunshine in my valley. We weren’t able to use the resort activities, and they tack on a hefty resort fee to the room rates, but after some discussion we got a lil financial relief. This was a very expensive evacuation. It would have been wonderful for my Dad 5 yrs ago before his stroke, the golf course would have made him happy. In short, do not stay if you aren’t able to walk long distances. I guess resort is all the absolutely fabulous fun things to do. But comfort, no not at all. Maybe this was my fault for not researching this more for our needs. Lots of young families with kiddos looked happy! Young adults looked like they were having tons of fun. But, seniors beware...know before you go. Hyatt, here were your shining stars, Diana front desk, Zack in valet. And Kelsie(May have spelled your name wrong) front desk checkout. Girls in coffee shop, helpful! Your room cleaning staff, so nice to me! Oh, forgot to tell ya about our midnight visitor in the bathroom...scorpion, but they came and sprayed..We were thankful that our homes were spared and after 5 long days, we could head home!!
