Should Have Stayed Home
September 1st was my birthday. I live in the Miami area and due to COVID-19 most places are closed, therefore we decided to look into an staycation. This resort was advertised as a beach front resort and when we called, we were told all of their services remained available, but with COVID regulations. We were told we'd be able to enjoy poolside drinks, room service and all five restaurants within the hotel. We were beyond excited for our stay up until this point. Once we arrived, we noticed we had been blatantly ripped off. We arrived at 6 pm to find that only one of the five restaurants was open, and it happened to be the seafood restaurant. My wife is deadly allergic to seafood. We were also told the spa was only open Wednesday-Sunday, and the poolside bar was only open 11-5, and the previously buffet breakfast was now a sit down meal. Also, this resort does NOT have access to the beach in any way, you cannot walk to the beach from the hotel, this is NOT a beach resort. You can purchase a ticket to a boat that comes to the marina the hotel is in, which then takes you to the beach. This boat's latest departure happens at 2:30 pm. And the ticket is not included in your booking price. All of these are inconveniences that during COVID, I can somewhat see happening. The reason this is so disrespectful to us is this: we were promised otherwise. Had I called and been told the TRUTH of what services they could and couldn't provide, I would have never wasted my money and wouldn't be writing this review right now. The absolute lack of sincerity and professionalism made this experience for us the last time we'll be giving Hyatt our business. We all know and understand the hard times we're living through. To rip people off, lie and hide information cannot be your business model. Do NOT book this hotel. You'll be almost as disappointed as we were with the poolside bar drinks. Almost.
Very badd experience
Booked 3 nights in the presidential suite for my family two kids... one year old and 5 years old.... September 5 @ 6:30pm We were going to the parking garage no other pepole was in visual sight at all... and an employee chased us down and threatened to have the cops come if we didn't put a mask on. I spoke to the manager and did not even get an apology.....There customer service is awful!!!!!!!!! the bed was AWFUL!!!! Very hard!!!! There is NO house keeping even though they charge the same prices for there rooms. They don't run troll to local restaurants BUT they still have the ferry going to the beach The food was Mediocre...... Probably the worst thing was the allow outside people to come and pay to get in and use their pool..... We will NEVER stay at a Hyatt property ever again!!!!!
Fabulous Valet Service!
Just want to mention how polite and wonderful Jacob the valet guy was. He was working alone and managed to get our car in a timely manner. He looks like a very hard working guy. Even if we had to wait for our car, we wouldn’t have minded because of his politeness and professionalism. He was our valet guy for 3 nights. Nicest and best service!!!! Thank you Jacob!!!
Fantastic, family-friendly getaway!
We had a wonderful vacation at this resort. There were so many slides and pool options that both my 7 year old and 3 year old were equally entertained. We also loved taking the boat to Big Hickory Island and having an island pretty much to ourselves. We will definitely be back!
Social distancing was maintained, masks in all public places. Constantly disinfecting the tubes at the water park. At the pool and lazy river all day throughout our stay. Truly enjoyed our stay. 4 adults & 5 kids. Will be back soon!
