Seriously needs to work with cleaning staff
Stayed at this hotel in December of 2019. The hotel its self was beautiful. The common area in the lobby was great as we were traveling with a group. The breakfast in the AM was perfect. I even used the gym, and it was great for a hotel gym. The rooms.... I've never been so disgusted in my life. Food under furniture, like whole pieces of pizza... dirty laundry left behind in the closet. Food in the couch. It really was gross. Too bad, for such a nice looking hotel. But wouldn't be back.
Not a pleasant experience
The check in process was dreadful. I booked a KING room and requested a quiet one, as I am a light sleeper. The front desk attendant, Olivia, ignored my request. At first, she placed me on the same floor as the pool, with kids running down the hallway. When I returned, she placed me in the room next to elevators and right in front of the ice machine, which was super loud. When I expressed my disappointment, I was told that the hotel is out of king rooms and placed in a double room with a connecting floor, even when I paid for a king. Unlike most Hyatt properties, the staff at this hotel do not appreciate returning customers, and my status with Hyatt loyalty program did not help.
Stay somewhere else
This hotel lacks customer service. Hotel needs major updates. Housekeeping doesn’t verify rooms are fully cleaned. found a phone charger and coffee pot was dirty. Elevator button was broken on the 10th floor. Rooms are very dated but large. The food at the hotel is good if you can actually get someone to seat you. You will spend more time waiting to be seated then it takes to eat even when the hotel is empty. Valet was ungrateful, I thanked them for bringing my car around they complain ignored me and walked off. Front desk acted like helping a customer was an annoyance more than their job. I left 3 days in of an 8 day stay. switched to the Rochester Hyatt regency which is way better.
Buffalo's Must Stay Hotel
This hotel is an absolute must if staying in Buffalo. The location is right where you would need to be (free rapid transit to the arena and canal - walking distance to theatre district). The absolute selling feature is the quality of the staff. I recommend this hotel as a guaranteed good stay. You will not go wrong.
Heyyyy!! Hyatt Buffalo rocks
What a find!! I hadn’t planned for a hotel and got lucky through a booking app; it was cheaper than the Holiday Inn. My room was beautifully appointed and very clean. Although the size of the tv seemed a bit big for the space. The Atrium restaurant has an amazing breakfast buffet for a great price. The only 2 “issues”... the concierge didn’t seem to know options available for what I was looking for. And one of the Guest Services staff was a bit short with me on the phone the morning of checkout.
