Our overall stay at the Hyatt was a delight though our last day was horrendous. There is an adult only pool that is labelled a tranquil pool, yet the last day a group of "KIDS" of approximately 8 to 10 were all allowed to rent ONE cabana so I am not sure how social distancing and the covid rules can be applied. Cabanas share a step, so they were all over the steps and laying/sitting on the neighboring area only approximately 2 feet away and not 6 feet away, at the same time this pool was supposed to be ADULT and Tranquil, yet they had kids under 18 and some of they were under 21, blasting music and being ignorant and rude. The management condoned their behavior instead of correcting it and asking them to leave since they were disturbing all the other paying cabana guests that followed the rules.
Always a great stay!
In my opinion, the Hyatt Regency in Aruba has the best location of any of the other hotels. The beach is beautiful, there are many great restaurants in walking distance, entertainment close by and lots of shopping in case you need something. This is by far one of our favorite properties to stay at.
9/10 would stay here again
2020 covid - mini-moon. Stayed here for 5 nights in Oct 2020 with my wife due to Aruba being one of the few places still allowing Americans to travel to without too many restrictions. First time in Aruba. Loved this place. Some of the highlights 1) wifi was fast 2) showers are great 3) pools were great 4) beaches/palapas were awesome - not super busy (probably because of covid) and we were able to stake out some really nice palapas and we didnt even show up to the beach huts that early (around noon every day!) 5) walking distance to many local restaurants. taxis readily available on site to take you to the ones that are not walkable 6) staff was very friendly and many of them knew our names 7) hyatt is running crazy covid promos and we got a ton of points back after our stay 8) lots of local vendors running around selling tours and excursions. they're all pretty great and I would not hesitate to book them 9) the whole place was pretty quiet, many of the bars and restaurants onsite were not open (Again, due to covid) or only partially open. this is fine for a low key vacation 10) ocean view rooms are amazing 11) last comment about house keeping, I was a bit confused bc I thought due to covid housekeeping was only supposed to be once every 4 days but they actually came every day... not sure if it was an opt in sort of thing... we didnt care but just wanted to flag that What else can you ask for? Had a great time and much better location than the Ritz Carlton. Would definitely return.
Do not go
My friends and I had the tribulation of staying at your hotel the Hyatt Regency. During our stay, we encountered a number of unsatisfactory service levels that I think you should know of. It was an implied term of our contract that the accommodation provided would be of a standard of cleanliness and quality reasonably to be expected from this type and price of hotel. Upon exiting the elevator to the 7th floor was a musty scent of perhaps mold of some other kind of earthy scent that was unsanitary and unhealthy to breathe in and walk through constantly. In addition we also are aware of the unprecedented times of the Corona Virus however according to the stipulations and signs that are placed around your hotel we were under the impression that the Casino would be open til 11pm on Thursday and Friday. Being that there are not many other accommodations available to us, we were told at 10:35pm that the casino is now closing and we were entitled to 3 more “spins” at the roulette table. Granted each spin takes less than a minute and we were spending a significant amount of money, we felt entitled to the entire time period that we were supposed to be given. Furthermore, the television in room 733 did not have several channels they were “offered” on the channel guide. We had called the front desk and they sent up their technician that evening (Thursday) and they were unable to determine what maybe the cause for such an inconvenience. In addition on Saturday at 11:30am we lost complete signal in all the rooms and no channels worked. I hope you agree with me that this type of service is completely unacceptable at so many levels. It is not the kind of treatment I would have expected from a five star hotel of your state and caliber. I am very disappointed from this experience. I would like to hear your thoughts and the steps that you are willing to take to prevent such incidents in the future and look forward to putting this experience past us and coming back to your Hotel again.
I just returned from a 6 night stay. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Beautiful views & great rooms. We loved every second of our stay. Make sure to enjoy the complimentary beach yoga with Maria. It was relaxing and rejuvenating.
