Terrible
Waited 2.5 hours for check in. Was told I would be comped, then they said no- no one said that. My brother stayed the same time, the air conditioner broke and they gave them someone else’s room. Horrible.

Gross and outdated
This Hyatt Place is, quite honestly, disgusting. It's outdated and in very poor condition. We had several issues with our stay. First, we drove 15 hours, only to arrive and be told the hotel parking structure was full. The valet and front desk staff could not provide any information about where we could park overnight. We spent an hour after check-in with 4 small kids struggling to find a place to park safely overnight. Second, there were no blackout blinds on the windows. We asked about it at the front desk and were told an engineer would be up. They never came. We asked again and again and they finally said there was nothing they could do. This is not acceptable when we have 4 kids who are asleep before the sun sets. Third, we didn't have any towels. Again, we made multiple requests by phone call and visits to the front desk. Despite promises, none came after several hours. We finally took towels from the pool. Fourth, we had several outlets that were not working. We also had an outlet that was clearly not up to code and half falling out. The breakfast was just ok. The location was fine but not as great as they try and say it is. It felt like a cheap, rundown hostel. I would NEVER recommend this Hyatt Place location to anyone. The rooms are small and gross, the pool is tiny and loud (being right outside the freeway), and the staff were not helpful. Skip it.

Clean rooms, go somewhere else if you want breakfast, room lacking on a few things
The stay was generally very nice. Our family of 6 and 2 grandparents traveled together - able to get connecting rooms so we felt like we were together. Room was clean and had a good view of the pool. Cons: Breakfast - overall this is my biggest complaint: It was sooo packed and it was literally the same food all week long - never any change. Protein options were yogurt which I watched a guy sneeze on, powered eggs that were tasteless, and turkey sausage. Room temp french toast that turned rock hard as it cooled. I didn't try anything else. Coffee was meh - super strong and bitter. Only good thing here was the people cleaning up - outstanding workers! Slow elevators Front desk help often seemed bothered by our request for our daily water bottles. Pillows - the pillows at hotels are sooo sad. Not even full queen size pillows it seems like and hardly any filling. I honestly think one of our pillows was a throw pillow. We did request more which they brought. Pool closed really early! Weird sliding glass door for the bathroom door - watch out to not pinch you fingers. This door is just awkward and useless IMO. Have a regular door. No fan in the bathroom - for ventilation this is needed! No Microwave in room. Our fridge barely kept things cold - I actually think our fridge was broken. Pros: Being in a connected room to the rest of our family. Hotel was able to accommodate us here. Air conditioner that worked! Housekeeping daily if we wanted it. Would stay again - but would make plans to not eat breakfast there.

Great location for visiting National Mall area
Great location within walking distance of the National Mall. We were able to walk to the Capitol, Smithsonian's, and White House from the hotel within 20 minutes or so. Lobby was clean, and breakfast was good. We would stay here again if ever in the area.

Outstanding!
This was the perfect hotel for our Independence Day vacation. Although the hotel was sold out, the staff execution was perfect! Breakfast was fresh and delicious; the pool was nice and refreshing; the lobby was clean and inviting. We thought the location was excellent, considering it's a short walk from the National Mall, the bike share was a block away and the subway was about 3 blocks. Pro tip, there's a Safeway that's south on 4th and what we thought was the best bet for provisions. Also, our room was sound proofed and we never heard a thing.
