Close to beach and shopping.
Convenient location and staff was helpful, however this is an older property. It's been updated in some ways, but not in others. Beds are uncomfortable, linens are stiff and give you that "clammy" kind of nights sleep. No smart TV's/no streaming. No food or beverage service available. Valet was prompt. Advertised and booked as Queen beds, but room had two Full size beds instead. That was the worst part.
Perfect for Our Chill Getaway
Stayed here for 5 nights with my spouse for a chill getaway. We had an ocean view room on the 18th floor. Nice, updated hotel with modern and clean rooms. Super friendly staff and management. Great value for the location. It doesn't have direct access to the beach, but it's right behind the Royal Hawaiian. Close to all the shops and restaurants. Resort fees are never fun, but it covers things like towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards. We made good use of those things. We also appreciated the water refilling station on our floor next to the ice machine! A huge plus! Parking was easy as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will happily book here again when we return.
Easy access to everywhere right in the middle of it. Room was very clean. Only thing to note is the pool is only a foot or so deep not an actual swimming pool. The staff was very kind and the free rental of beach chairs and towels were awesome.
Great location. Nothing too fancy, no on property restaurants so you need to eat somewhere in Waikiki. Clean and nice size rooms & bathrooms. Parking for guests was convenient too; free for Kahala as!
Not Up to Expectations
A few things to note that I did not see mentioned- 1) Our hot tub was not hot at all during our stay, I clocked 5 separate parties complaining about it. The front desk would only say that "turning on the jets released the heat". We did that and there was no difference. Would have loved a bit more accountability/admitting the hot tub was not working or not a real hot tub 2) I booked a room with two queens through the Hyatt website, when we got there the room was clearly 2 fulls. I told the front desk and they said that I was incorrect and the beds were two queens and "I would know if I had the room with two fulls". I wouldn't mind if they were specialty non US based sizing of mattresses but I would like to know ahead of time and also would be surprised as it's a US hotel lol. My friends "Premium King" room was on the 7th floor and completely different from photos (they booked on Expedia) Housekeeping did well, but the rest of our experience left a lot to be desired. Would definitely check out a more reasonably priced option for what we got.
