Hotel has potential but lack of concern for guests & the amount of things broken is crazy!

We are currently staying at Hotel Indigo in Silverthorne in a two-bedroom suite. We checked in on July 1 and were informed at check-in that our key cards would not work, so any time we want to access our room, we have to wait for a front desk staff member to escort us. When we asked about breakfast, we were told there was an issue and that breakfast would not be available at all. Once we got to our room, we discovered that the mechanical blackout blinds in the living room are stuck down, completely blocking the mountain view we paid extra for, while the blinds in the bedroom are stuck up and will not close. Additionally, the air conditioning is locked. We were told by the front desk that engineering would handle it, but instead, we were informed that if we want to adjust the temperature, we have to call the front desk every single time. I requested a call from the manager, but it has now been 48 hours and we have yet to hear anything. When it’s 70 degrees outside, the room is unbearably hot, and when it drops to the 40s at night, it’s freezing inside. As Diamond Hilton members, we had originally booked the Hampton Inn but switched to Hotel Indigo when this suite became available, thinking it would be a special stay for our family to enjoy time together. Unfortunately, this has turned out to be the biggest mistake we could have made. The lack of concern and care from both Hotel Indigo and IHG is truly disappointing.

FRONT DESK CALLED AT 3 AM AND MISTAKENLY ACCUSED US OF STOMPING AROUND AND KEEPING PEOPLE AWAKE.AWAKE.

We stayed there because our daughter had to have surgery at the Steadman Clinic. The front desk called us at 3 AM and accused us of playing loud music and stomping (dancing) around. They said the people below us couldn't sleep because of it. I said it wasn't us. My husband and i are close to 70 yrs old. He was asleep and I was helping my daughter who needed wheelchair assistance due to the surgery. Yet she was in bed all night and no one was dancing or stomping around. He was very rude and curt with me. The next morning he told my husband he was a liar - that it was us - and that he didn't want us "elitists" in his "fu..ing" hotel. This hotel employee became angry and erratic and my husband said he felt unsafe around him. I certainly did too the way he talked to me at 3 am. He came out from behind the front desk and demonstrated how we were "stomping around." If it wasn't so incredibly unbelievable it would be humorous. We travel extensively and have never experienced anything like this. My husband talked to a regional rep for Hotel Indigo and asked her to watch the video (the hotel records front desk interactions) so she could see how her employee reacted and swore at my husband. I would never stay at this hotel ever again.

Hotel Indigo - Silverthorne isn't a top choice to safely stay.

I have Diamond Elite Status at IHG Hotels. I do NOT recommend this hotel! The night desk clerk is a mean, angry, unkempt young man who verbally threatened and belittled my wife. When confronted, he fabricated a false story that's simply impossible to have occurred, even when shown evidence, suggesting he might be overreacting and possibly wrong in his assumption. Instead of listening, he demonstrated, via dance moves, how unfit he thought we were to be guests there, even knowing hotel lobby cameras were recording him. While twirling his hair and playing with his beard, he began a slew of profanity-laced tirades, while telling us that all IHG-Indigo guests, including his boss, were just a bunch of "elitist sh.t heads" and told us to get the F... out of his hotel. Management seems okay with being passive-aggressive in matters like this. They are very skilled at talking in circles while bragging about their professionalism by explaining that they record everything. They seem genuinely disinterested in providing basic, reasonable, safe care to guests who have just undergone major surgical procedures at the Steadman Clinic in Vail.

Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance

Rooms have upgraded fixtures. Nice rooms. Free covered parking garage. Walking distance to restaurants, and shops. Close enough to I70 for travel, but far enough off to be less congested. We did enjoy the on-site restaurant for dinner. Friendly staff, but heed-they are NOT open for breakfast. We found a lovely shop across the street that had wonderful breakfast and coffee (Enza’s) when we stayed. Only issue to report – we accidentally left some souvenirs in a bag in the room upon checkout. When we realized, we called to notify the front desk to have them hold the souvenirs. When we drove back to the hotel after the day’s excursions, housekeeping had thrown away the souvenirs, but told us- “we didn’t find anything.” BS. I know for a fact the bag was there. Honesty goes a long way. Own your mistake and I can carry on, but they lied instead. If you accidentally leave anything in the room, they will throw it away and deny it. This would make me question leaving valuables in the room when housekeeping comes in. I emailed the GM, but did not get a response. The rest of the experience was great, but with any hotel (including this one) guard your personal property.

My favorite Hotel in Ski Country.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Indigo Silverthorne. The hotel was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful, and my room was spacious and clean. This hotel is conveniently located near the ski resorts; good restaurant options and gives off that hometown vibe that I really enjoy. I will recommend this hotel to everyone as it is truly a great hotel experience.
