Apr 10, 2025BE AWARE THIS UNFRIENDLY ,AND DIRTY HOTEL
I am writing to report an extremely negative experience during my stay at the Holiday Inn North Central. Upon arriving at the hotel, my family and I requested a clean room, but upon entering, we encountered a strong cigarette odor and later noticed mold and cockroaches, indicating a clear lack of hygiene in the facilities. When we attempted to address the issue by contacting the woman who identified herself as the hotel manager, and owner as said was her property the response was unacceptable. Instead of addressing our concern, this woman began yelling at us and abruptly hung up the phone. When I went down to the front desk to request an immediate refund, her attitude worsened: she ordered us to "get out" without confirming whether the refund would be processed, used crude language, and started recording me as I insisted on getting my money back. I requested to speak with a superior, but she claimed to be both the manager and the owner of the property, denying me any other avenue for resolution. The situation escalated further when she called a security company. The guards arrived with an aggressive and threatening demeanor, without even attempting to understand the situation, apparently acting solely on this woman’s instructions. Throughout the ordeal, her behavior was hostile, unprofessional, and disproportionate, even telling me to "shut up, this is my property" while continuing her threats. This experience was not only disappointing but also humiliating and alarming. A hotel under the Holiday Inn brand should uphold basic standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service, yet what we encountered was the complete opposite. This individual’s behavior is scary , aggressive, rude and the deplorable condition of the room and areas.

Have just stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of our 2 weeks to Tsxss trip. Location at edge of North Austin but easy to get about as long as you have car or take a taxi. Staff member on arrival was very friendly and helpful. Prompt check in and room was nice and spacious and cleanly presented. Breakfast was what it is and it starts your day off well. Only complaint would be the paper plates and plastic cutlery. 1st time I have experienced this in an IHG hotel. Didn't effect my stay though just an observation. Grounds and car park felt secure and plenty of spaces to park. Situated next to I35 and lots of construction work on there but not heard anything. The windows could be a little better insulated but again no major issues. Overall a pleasant stay and good start to our holiday

My initial check in was a bit confrontational and I did not expect that from the front reception. I called in for an early check in and was told the room will be ready when I arrive, but upon arriving, I was greeted contentiously after telling the rep about my early check in and was told immediately that there may not be a room available for me without even looking at my booking first. I find this very unpleasant and very troubling as I have only experienced this twice in my 14 years of being an elite member from different hotel chains. Sep 29, 2024If you go to an event in Austin, stay here.
The room was quiet and clean. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. The light switches and lights are plentiful. The breakfast in the morning has a good variety. The staff was nice and professional. The place was packed, but I didn't know that until the morning when I went out for breakfast. I cannot recommend this place enough. They didn't price gouge like the other places just 2 miles further down the highway.

Great service
The service here was excellent. Anytime I went to the front with any questions or accommodations they were extremely helpful and happy to do so. Genuine good experience. Only issues we had were that there was a light smell in the room and the hallway AC was either off or didn't work. Other than that everything was clean and we had a good time.
