New Year's Eve
My email reservation had the wrong City name in the address, had to call the hotel for the correct one as there was no hotel in the address given to me by the hotel on my reservation. We booked it based on the fact that they had advertised a hot tub but upon arrival, we found out they are discontinuing the hot tub bc it was beyond repair. Rooms were clean and breakfast was delicious but it was all overtaken by bad service (we couldn't even change a channel in the community room to watch the ball drop (we wanted to hang out together with our friend's family). But the worst is that they charged us for two rooms (we booked it for us and our friends) AND they charged our friends for the same two rooms and they are refusing to make the situation right again.
Great place for the price!
Front desk staff was very friendly; everything went exactly as planned with check-in. We had chosen this hotel specifically for it's location in relation to many highways, as well as the fact that there is an indoor pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, we discovered the 1st night that the hot tub was being pulled apart for renovations. Our final full day/night there, the pool was closed for maintenance. However, the room was very clean, and there is a smart use of space with nice amenities included (fridge, Keurig, iron, hair dryer, etc). We were doing a lot of visiting during our trip, so the location could not have been better; we were no more than 17 minutes from every place we went to. Our final morning of our trip there were tons of people eating breakfast when we were, but the woman refilling the food did an AMAZING job keeping up with the demand, and was super friendly. We had never stayed here before, but will definitely consider staying again for future trips. If you are not looking for a place that has an adjacent restaurant or theater, and are willing to either walk a few blocks, or travel, this place is WELL worth considering! I also saw in previous reviews that it was noisy; we had NO issues with the sound from the highway, and I'm a relatively light sleeper. There was also mention of the hallways being like a labyrinth; the building is simply a square. Our room was on the complete opposite side of the building as the elevators, but it was by no means hard to find or difficult to get to. Check this place out for a cost effective way to stay in downtown Albany!
Worst front desk
I came to check in with a groupon and i reserved a 2 queen room and she told me i reserved a 1 king bed. Only after i checked my email and told her that im sure it was a 1 queen room did she make an excuse that - oh now she sees it in her system. She also started saying about how little commission they get because i asked her to switch my room to a 2 bed queen, which was before she said - oh i see it now, and she said no she cant because of some commission. She made me feel like garbage and not like a guest ready to serve and accommodate. She should be fired. She kept just arguing with me. What a disgrace that this person is the face of the hotel and that everyone who comes there will never come back.

Times Union Concert
Stayed her overnight to attend a concert at the Times Union Center. Easy, quick check in. Hotel was clean and modern. Staff was pleasant. Standard Holiday Inn Espress breakfast. A few bars/restaurant within walking distance. Easy walk over to the Union Times Center for concert even in 5 degree weather. Recommend highly if attending an event there. We did have a room on the highway side. You did get road noise, so if you are light sleeper I would get a room on the other side.
