Not sure I like 'European Style' hotel

We stayed here because of the location. I was attending the International Car show and the GWCC is within walking distance. AC is not one of my favorite Marriott brands. The things I like: very good location next to Millenial park, modern furniture, wood floors, walk-in shower. The things that put me off: $15 for a 'European' breakfast. $38 for mandatory valet parking, dark rooms, lack of plugs. I'm old and I like bright rooms. This room seemed dark with all the lights lit. The real problem I had was when I tried to make coffee. The pot was on a shelf above the microwave. There was no plug anywhere convenient. I had to pull the tray with the coffee maker off the shelf (spilling water) and move it to the desk to find a plug. The plugs they had were nice because they also included USB plug-ins. But they were inadequate. The bathroom was large and there was a two head walk-in shower which included a rain head on the ceiling. The service was very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the Olympic Marathon taking place at the park on the day we were leaving. The front desk gave me a print-out of the road closures with times. This allowed be to check-out early and avoid any road blockage.

    A really bad experience

I had good experiences with AC properties in Montreal and Milan but this was a pretty bad one. The room I was given (Bonvoy Gold) was small and dark (very small and tiny window). The top shelf in the “open” closet had a thick layer of dust and the other one was greasy. Upon reporting this to the front desk, I got a snippy response and they gave me another room. Of course, not on a high floor. Same thing here with the shelves, but the bed was also not made with pillows thrown all over. I asked to speak to the manager but was denied. No word of apology or attempt to rectify this. I cancelled my reservation and found a better hotel (Candler Curio Hilton)! And for that they wanted to charge over $250 per night. There are lots of nice hotels in ATL!

    Perfect location

Was in town for the Olympic Trials marathon and picked this hotel because it was close to the start/finish but if I ever come back to Atlanta would stay here again. Easy to get to from the airport (a Marta stop is less than a 5 min walk away), rooms are great size and quite, lots of places to eat close by, lots to see close by.

    Cheap Quality Horrible Facility

Do not waste your money!!! This hotel is trash. The food was served in styrofoam container and taste like crap. The toilet would not flush. You can hear everything while in your room. Too many choices and this ain't it. Stay Away!!!

    Pleasantly Surprised!

I was not familiar with this Marriott property so I was not sure what to expect. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is modern and the staff is great. We are enjoying our room and view. The location is also perfect if your are visiting any of the tourist attractions downtown.
