Poor Customer Service
On December 2, 2020, at around 11:45pm I went to check into the hotel and was told by security the agent stepped away to the restroom. While waiting, I went to the computer to print out my employee discount card. As I sat over there for about 15 mins messing with the printer that didn’t work, I decided to not worry and see if it can be emailed. The agent/NightAuditor was still not back. As I was standing at the desk the agent was having a personal conversation with another young lady. I was on a time crunch so I was ready to check in. It took me a while before I noticed the person standing there talking was actually the agent. She had no name tag on or anything. I said excuse me, we are trying to check into our room. She said, “let me finish my conversation, I will be there in a minute.” Unacceptable response! Then after going back and forth with her, me trying to explain how unprofessional that was as a front desk agent. I asked her for her name, she refused to give it to me. Being a name tag is Marriott brand standard, that was unacceptable. My family member was upset due to how disrespectful she was ended up have words exchange and me trying to calm my family down and explain to the agent how she was wrong. Due to her refusing to give a name, I snapped a photo. As a Marriott employee, to experience this was unacceptable. As a front desk agent, I would not have acted in the way she acted. I refused to stay there and went somewhere else.
Clean, safe and great service
Visited for 1 night with my family. Check in was quick and easy, the gentleman who checked us in was incredibly friendly and professional. The hotel was empty (assuming due to Covid, but we were also there Tuesday-Wednesday) we had a great room on a high floor. Everything was super clean! Hand sanitizer everywhere, masks required. Very convenient to Georgia Aquarium, Coca Cola, College football Hall of Fame, Peach Tree St and other great Atlanta things to do. Definitely recommend and will be back if we are in Atlanta again.
This has been the worst stay this year and one of the worst experience with Marriott. The room I was put in was subpar with very limited working electrical outlets, blinds inoperable, no trash can in bathroom, no bag for the ice. ice machine was broken, it seems to be the party hotel and furthermore management NEVER did follow back up or reassign another room. Jessie the engineer was helpful, Earl the manager never did call us back. I had to call the front desk twice to get someone to come and look at the problem which was 15 minutes upon checking in. I travel often and value the location of the hotel but next time will stay elsewhere. There seem to be random people in the hotel lobby. The valet parking price is RIDICULOUS $38.00 DAILY, They seem to be very understaffed because Saturday night it was vehicles everywhere in front of the hotel. They however was fast in retrieving the vehicle when needed. I was very shock to be treated as a Marriott member as such. The only positive experience was the front desk was courteous
Staff Excellent Property Disappointing
This property was extremely disappointing.. I got married that weekend and chose to spend the night before the wedding bonding with my daughter and stepdaughter.. We pulled out the sleeper sofa to find an old used dirty face mask.. jolly rancher paper, a dead bug, and a filthy lent filled mattress.. they opted to stay in the second room (grooms room) after there were no accommodations of new mattress or different room available.. The Ice machine did not work on the floor.. on several floors.. no microwave in the king suite.. NO MICROWAVE! in the largest room they have.. the toilet was inoperable.. no service was available to come and assist.. the air conditioner was extremely loud to the point i kept thinking it was raining outside.. it wasn't raining.. My husband could not sleep.. and the icing on the cake is there were charges in excess of $2000 that were not accurate on my CC that caused declines and many domino effects of inconveniences as this was the only card i used to pay the balances of the services for the wedding.. reduced charges were offered but it was not reflected at all in the bills.. Tracy at the front desk and Josh in Valet were absolutely pleasant and awesomely wonderful.. The common areas of the zen garden and lobby were nice.. but I will not be returning to this property ever.
Nice rooms but not taking health precautions
When we checked in with our family, valet did not wear masks and neither did front desk. We all had our masks on, even my 4 year old, which should be a trigger that our family takes the current pandemic/guidelines seriously. They staff was overall friendly checking in, less so checking out. Inside our room was very clean, however majority of the halls and elevator smelled like marijuana. We didn’t mind it, but my 4 year old kept asking what smelled so funny. This was our first time traveling since Covid-19 and I was overall disappointed by how the staff handled the safety and health of guests, but I think even if pandemic was not going on, I wouldn’t stay again. We are Marriott members and I’d prefer to look into staying at a different Marriott in Atlanta.
