Mahalo Tasapa
We had a wonderful experience and it was made even more special by the front desk crew during check-in. We were greeted by and given amazing treatment by Tasapa. She was wonderful to work with and treated us like family. Mahalo Tasapa!

A place in Paradise
This is a beautiful place in Paradise. It's rather remote on the Big Island, although the Marriott is next-door to it. The amenities are fabulous including a saltwater lagoon, dolphins you can swim with for a fee, huge swimming pool, and so many chairs around the pools that we could always find some. We were in the Makai Tower which is in great shape and a great location. We had the ocean view rooms with balconies. The only thing we missed was having a sandy beach so that the kids could get in the ocean. Another possible con was the lack of nearby restaurant choices. They did provide free pool towels and free reusable water bottles with refill stations on every floor by the ice machines. There was a refrigerator in the room but if you needed a microwave it was down the hall by the ice machine. A nice Keurig was in the room with coffee provided.

So much good but so much bad.
A truly beautiful resort with amazing grounds, pools and a salt water lagoon. Lots of sea life in the lagoon and the dolphin centre is amazing and much loved by all who see it. The resort is situated in a great albeit isolated location 40 minutes north of the airport. The resort on the inside is a bit run down and the rooms look very tired and out of date. More roadside motel than Hilton. We found ourselves having to wear slippers (not provided) after showering in the room as the carpet was so dirty we soon got black feet. Very little is provided in the rooms and when you think about how much you are paying it’s actually a pretty bad deal. Our room was not far from the monorail which is nosy and ran on the evening of the 24/6 up to 2135hrs and started running again the next morning at 0642hrs thereby making you feel you were staying in a busy train station. Not good when on holiday. Housekeeping services are run in a manner I’ve never seen before. Book the day before or forget it. Not what you’d expect when staying at a quality hotel. Food in the resort. As noted by many others is expensive. Due to the location the resort has you in its hands and it’s a case of Hilton standing for Honey I Lost Tons of Note$. Very disappointing and to be honest simply unreasonable. That said KPC is outstanding. Wonderful location. Great food and great staff. Recommended. As mentioned the resort is remote and most guests will probably hire or have cars. Hilton cashes in on this and charges $50 a day to park. So everywhere you look you get drained of your hard earned cash. All-in-all, an experience. I would not stay again and would advise others to think carefully before committing to an extremely overpriced unlike normal Hilton experience.

Price Gauging
Huge resort is worth seeing, but not the Big Island experience you deserve. Way overpriced food and drinks at the resort in addition to very average rooms. Just get a day pass. We liked the pools, waterslides and the golf course but would not recommend eating there versus the value and quality we saw in local establishments.
