Good value a couple blocks from the sand.
We did a stopover for one night on the way from NYC to Kona, and the Hilton hit the spot. Just what the doctor ordered. Clean updated room, high floor, comfortable bed. Nice team. Would definitely return.

Outdated
This was by far the worst Hilton I have ever stayed in and that's including the lower tiered Hiltons like Hampton Inns. I am Diamond level, so I have stayed in a lot of Hiltons and I have tried to stay loyal. I paid about $9,000 for two connecting rooms for the week for my family of 5 which includes 3 kids. The rooms smelled like body odor when we first arrived and one of the bed's duvet cover was dirty as if they weren't washed from the previous guest. There were no top sheets on the beds, which was very annoying, so the beds just had a fitted sheet and a comforter. The rooms looked like they were last updated in the early 2000s with the brown granite counter tops and the khaki painted walls. We weren't sure what era the gross carpet came from, but none of us wanted to walk on it with our bare feet. The furniture reminded me of something that would have come out of a 1970s little boy's room and it was all banged up. I am guessing that when they renovated 25 years ago, the furniture was not a part of the renovation. My husband and I are both slender, but it was tough for both of us to fit comfortably in a double bed. It was my fault for not catching that on the Hilton app when I booked the rooms, but I am really surprised that there are even double beds for adults to share at a resort. I did go back to the front desk to ask about other options than these two rooms and they didn't really seem very interested in helping me and just said, "Well, you can pay about $2,500 more." She then asked me if I know how to use the app. Of course I did since that's how I booked my stay. I guess that was her way of telling me that I should have closely looked at the pictures. We avoided the resort as much as possible except to sleep in at night. We spent our days exploring other parts of the island and eating at nice restaurants that were usually a part of other nicer hotels like we are more accustomed to staying in. It's all relative and what you are used to I guess, but we would definitely not stay here again.

Disappointed
This was only 3 stars because my room was free from using points & newly remodeled with excellent views and the ac worked well. I was so disappointed in the following…. 1-zero beach chairs or umbrellas unless you paid $100 each day. The guy who set up the chairs and umbrella had such an attitude and put you on top of other people. 2-no drink or food service on the beach. Pool only had sub par service. For a “beach resort” it’s nice to have service on the beach. 3-had a roach running all over in my bathroom (22nd floor of Rainbow Tower) upon arrival. Then saw one at the Tropics bar and restaurant. 4-Water is non existent. They give you two bottles for your entire it up at a concierge desk. I’m used to two in my room each day. Not a big deal but spending $20 each day for water is ridiculous. 5-$50 resort fee is a joke. It covered a towel and free wifi, feee DVD rentals. 6-Everything is cheaper 1 block away for food. $40 for a garden salad with chicken and $26 for simple avocado toast is beyond the prices one block off the property. Definitely forego their restaurants if at all possible. 7-over all property was not the best beach experience by far. Pigeons and flies. We definitely noticed the staff doesn’t pick up garbage left by other tourists and the tourists in general aren’t that considerate on leaving their cups and left over food behind. Overall I’d stay elsewhere for an extra $100-200 a night and get a truly great beach resort experience

Enjoy the Hotel and Ohana Spirit at Every Level
Always delivers across the key factors I look for: exceptional staff at every level (front desk, room care and valet) -- great room comfort and quality of sleep -- and valued services (onsite restaurant, bar, gym) making your stay meet all your needs at a good price point. As a Lifetime Diamond was given a wonderful upgrade w/spectacular view and food/beverage credit I used at bar and restaurant. Recent upgrades have enhanced the property and hotel location keeps you out of the hustle-n-bustle of Waikiki; while a quick 3/5-min walk puts you in the middle of the action for multiple food and beverage selections. The onsite restaurant has modified its menu for better quality selections and the taste and portions have moved in a favorable direction -- there had been some challenges with the menu in the past. So appreciate the improvements. Gym has some new equipment (I stay here often) and the 24/7 hours helps deal with the time challenges moving from mainland to island time. Some additional considerations: Starbucks in Marriott (right next door -- 2 min walk) opens at 4am for those dealing with mainland time on 1st days in Hawaii; a 25-min drive from HNL to hotel in non-rush hour times; easy to grab Uber/Lyft for rides in/around Waikiki; MAC 24/7 on site restaurant has great breakfast choices. Overall: appreciate the work to recognize my loyalty level and provide room upgrades. And the "Ohana Spirit" from the staff always makes it truly enjoyable. Will be back for sure.....

Great hotel
This was a 3 night pre- cruise hotel stay. Loved it, had an ocean view room which was perfect. We got here late after a very long flight from London and the lady who checked us in was so lovely and friendly. We only ate here once for breakfast and it was nice, no complaints.
