I traveled here for 1 year. They take care of you.
Just to set expectations, I am a Diamond Member. I stayed at hotels over 150 nights last year for projects in SIngapore, Columbus, and Charlotte. The minute I know I am on a project for over 6 months and i know the hotel is the one I want to stay at, I let the manager know so I can get booked at the hotel or know I can call him if the hotel is full and still get a room. The do that for you here and will go out of their way for you to make sure that you get a good room (Executive level and Executive Lounge and Breakfast tickets). The managers are George and Kim and they will take care of you. You just need to talk to them and let them know Vic (me) gave you the skinny. Look, there are many hotels in the area, but this one is the best if you are working the area NE of downtown or by UNC Charlotte. There are many amenities, you are a block away from the Blueline Light Rail station which gets you downtown or to many restaurants and breweries for $4 round trip. Close restaurants, close to UNC, and close to Wells Fargo Main offices or TIAA offices. The rooms are great, very clean, and the beds are super comfortable.. They are renovating the rooms as I write this. Breakfast in the Executive lounge is very nice. Bacon, Sausage, eggs, Fruit, oatmeal are nice. Depending on the price or deal you arrange with the front desk can also get you access to free breakfast int the main restaurant which gives you access to a bigger buffet and omelet bar. Other amenities: Pool when the weather gets good. Full restaurant and bar with many of the good local brewery IPAs on tap like NODA and Birdsong. The bartenders are nice and have good local recommendations. The dinner selection is good (Salads, Fish, Steak, Burgers, pulled pork etc). The gym is ok. 4 treadmills, two step climber machines, free weights. One pull-down / combo resistance machine. Here is a secret tip (SHHHHHHHH): There is a gym a block away called FItness Connection. They don't advertise it but if you tell them you are staying at the Hilton and show your room card and Drivers License, they let you in one time a day for free. Full gym, all the weights and machines. Very big. Crowded after 6 AM to 8 AM and after 5 PM to 7 PM. Try to go before 6AM or after 7 PM. Oh another thing.... They have a shuttle that will take you to anywhere within a 5 mile radius. Very convenient if you don't want to pay extra for Uber or taxi. The drivers names are Cozi in the morning and Victor in the Evenings. Very nice guys. Victor knows alot about music so hit him up if you are a music fan. Tip them and they will take care of you. Nicest guys around. I hope this review helps and ask me any questions if you have them.
Attended conference and one elevator and one escalator were out. They did not repair either one in the 5 days I was there. This non responsiveness led to extremely long lines and inevitably short tempers.
Deeply disturbed by extra charges and no response
I want to bring this into your attention again that I have been overcharged for my stay in your hotel. In fact I have multiple charges from you all but thanks to my bank only one went through. Unfortunately it was the biggest amount :(. The booking was done under my name. I stayed alone from 3/5/2020 to 3/07/2020. i am deeply disturbed by the events that have happened following my most recent stay at your hotel. I have made several calls and have only received a callback from a front desk worker who had no idea how to resolve this. The managers have not given me a single callback. I have also contacted my bank and notified the fraud department. As of today the charges remain, my account is over-drafted, automatic payments for other bills have bounced, and this could severely impact my credit score. I have contacted your office and the general Hilton office. I will report this matter to the Better Business Bureau if I do not see prompt efforts to resolve the situation and refund my account. Unfortunately, you have left me have no choice but to respond in this manner. I am a long time user of your hotel and an honors member. I travel a lot for my job and I am at the point where I am moving towards never using this hotel chain again. Writing here is something I would never do but I am desperate for a response. The hotel itself was fine but again It would be difficult for me to trust this organization with future business.
Looks good but not the best Hilton by far.
Stayed in better Hiltons. Power outage was not their fault but they didn't handle it very well. Room was ok but the hvac unit was about to fall out of the wall. Temp wasn't set for season (can't be set in the 50's during February. Some staff was good but others were just rude.
Proven one of the best
We have stayed several times at this hotel. It has so many conveniences and you can not beat the rooms. I have had a very pleasurable experience every time. The few times there were minor issues, they were quick to remedy and go above and beyond on making us pleased. Will stay again.
