First time to Punta Cana
It was our groups first time to the Dominican Republic and we had a great time! The bus ride from the airport didn’t take too long which was nice. Not as long as some bus rides we had in Jamaica. When we travel we like a mix of relaxation and fun and the resort had a good mix of both! We have fun getting to know the folks that work there and the other guests. The vibe team was fun and made the experience even better! We had JP-JeanPaul for a couple of days, and Mr. Pokemon (Salomon) 😁 the rest of the time and they were awesome! JP and Salomon gave us some dance lessons, got us going on games, brought the vibes!! Salomon got us going in karaoke and talked to everybody! Mr. Bombon, Electrica, Chris, they were all great! Ozuna and Joesmerlyn were awesome and hooked us up at the Hideaway bar and poolside! We had a great time with the vibe team and bar staff! The food at the restaurants were good, and offered a good variety of cuisines. It took us a couple nights to get the timing down to actually be able to make reservations at restaurants. Reservations were required everywhere with the exception of just a couple places, there was no walk-in’s allowed in those places. The entertainment was pretty good each night as well!

Would NOT Recommend
I am honestly convinced that a generous portion of these reviews are paid for. Maybe if I had been more intoxicated, I would have had a better experience, but take this as a cautionary tale. Last year, I had an amazing stay at one of the Barcelo resorts in Cancun, and decided that I wanted to do an adults-only all-inclusive experience next. During the booking process, I discovered that Royalton Hideaway had a cheaper price that included round-trip airport transportation. A short summary would be that the staffing, service, and food were extremely lacking, cleanliness was a concern throughout my stay, the Hideaway isn't a true adults-only experience, and I wouldn't waste money to book with any Royalton resort again. Day 1: Meeting up with my Nexus transport was fairly straightforward, and the ride took less than 30 minutes. Note: there's a very rundown looking road you must take just before you reach the resort. Upon arrival at the main lobby, I was given a welcome drink (it was a green, syrupy mystery cocktail), then taken on a golf cart to the actual Hideaway side. Check-in was fairly uneventful, but I was surprised to find that there was no elevator to get to my 3rd floor suite. In my room, I immediately noticed that there was a non-stop dripping from the shower head and there was rust around the sink. Exhausted from travel, I showered and ordered room service on the TV. Options were extremely limited: appetizers, wraps, two or three salads, a veggie burger, or a regular burger. The turkey wrap was fine, but the caesar salad was extremely salty to the point that I had to scrape dressing off of the lettuce. Before I went to sleep, I noticed that there were stains on the floor and the bedding didn't seem as clean as I would like. Day 2: Went to breakfast at El Dorado. The hostess had a bit of an attitude, and the general service was poor. The glass they gave me water in smelled bad, it took a really long time to get food, and I had to ask for coffee multiple times from different staff before I got it. The pool is decently sized, but the DJs only played 70s and 80s music (no Latin music, soca, dance hall, etc) that was sometimes muffled by music from the all-ages side. After hanging out at the pool and beach, I came back to my "cleaned" room only to find ants on the new washcloths, one of the replacement towels was dingy, and the stains remained on the floor. I put in a request through the app to have the washcloths replaced, but no one ever came. I hadn't made a reservation that day due to issues, I had with the app, but I was told at check-in that the buffet didn't require one. When I went downstairs at 8 PM, I waved down a staff member to inquire about the buffet's location and confirm that I could still get dinner. He stated that dinner wasn't allowed there for Hideaway guests. I ended up just going to the beach bar to drink since I was going to be stuck ordering room service again. Once I headed back to my room and ordered, the food never showed up. Day 3: I ate lunch at the buffet on the regular side which was hands down the best meal.I had the entirety of my stay. I was disappointed that there wasn't any local fare, but there was a decent variety of options. I stayed by the pool that afternoon but the sound of noise from the other side got overwhelming. I managed to book dinner at Jade - which apparently can also be booked by the non-Hideaway guests, so there were children. The restaurant had a dim side of the restaurant with a nice ambiance, and a very bright side. I was unfortunate enough to get placed on the bright side. Service was better here than at El Dorado, but the food was lacking. I got a summer roll for an appetizer that was pretty good. The General Tso's chicken, however, was bland, and I didn't finish it. The staff offered to get something else, but I just didn't want to be disappointed again. Day 4: Breakfast at the buffet was a similar experience to lunch the day prior xcept that they were busier, and it seemed a bit short-staffed. Check out was a bit chaotic because vehicles drive up an access ramp to get to the main lobby where people are waiting to go to the airport. My driver actually had to reverse off because of the buses waiting in front of us. All-in-all, i would say to steer clear.

Juan the Hideaway Pool Bartender is BEST EVER!
Juan at the Hideaway pool manager/bartender is literally the reason I will return to this resort!! He was so so amazing and even said to us the day after we came back to the pool after having a beach cabana for the day he had missed us and wondered where we were! He's the best bartender ever! WE LOVE JUAN!

Do not go here
Absolutely awful I paid a lot of money for diamond club two bedroom ocean view suite What I got was a sliver of an ocean view a king size bed, for 2 women, and a hotel room that look like it was Motel 6 First, it is not adults.Only. there is only one restaurant and one pool that’s adults only otherwise there are little kids everywhere running around, in pools with their dirty diapers. Our hotel room was disgustingly dirty. I tried to take a shower. It took 40 minutes to get hot water and then this plastic separator thing fell off and water went everywhere. There’s no elevator so if you have to go up to the third floor, you have to carry your bags We paid for the diamond club. It’s literally one tiny room. There is no lounge. It’s not a lounge. It’s one room. Do not go here
