    Staff is unbeatable

    I have to start by saying this was the best trip I've ever taken and this was during covid with everything limited. The staff is incredible at making your stay perfect. It all started with a few issues we had with our room. Travis and Anniesha were so patient with us and worked until we were satisfied. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Next we get to the bars. Most of the bartenders are just that. Bartenders. But we ventured to the hideaway pool to see everything and im so glad we did. I probably would have a complaint about bartenders had it not been for dwight and chickpea. I can bet my life that whatever they're getting paid isn't enough. Its a shame they are only getting like 5 people over there a day if they're lucky. We spent the last 4 days of our trip there. GET PEOPLE OVER TO THE HIDEAWAY POOL. This place can't afford to lose chickpea. Shes the best. Finally I get to the entertainment. Obviously it was very empty here due to covid so things were limited but they always had something going on. Shane was the best on the vibe team. He thinks outside the box all day everyday. He brings the party to life. And talks to everyone like theyre his close friends. Without the 5 people I mentioned I dont think this resort would survive. This was my first time in jamaica and they made certain it won't be my last. Take care of them make sure they're here to stay. We will see you next year.

    Dishonest hotel

    Our stay immediately started with a 4 hour check in debacle. The credit card machines couldn't accept Visa cards. The front desk team blamed us for the cards not working even after the bank told them the charges were not being received (or declined). We told the front desk manager we were planning to book a different, more expensive hotel in order to avoid dealing with their shenanigans. My deal with them was if they let us leave without any trouble, we wouldn't write the one star review they earned. Clithy assured us she would 'make it right'. She gave us three things: full diamond club upgrade, room upgrade, and complimentary massages. However, with the diamond club we never saw our personal butlers, there was no value in the dedicated beach seats, and we couldn't get into any restaurants. The room upgrade was nice, however we were going to have to move anyways. Our initial room's air conditioning didn't work and there was a bad smell and leak in the hallway. Finally, the complimentary messages were 25 minutes. It wasn't enough time to enjoy it. Throughout the stay, we were consistently disappointed with the way that Royalton approached customer service. Off property, the local Jamaicans were extremely hospitable and lovely people. On property, much of the staff was extremely defensive and unengaged. Pros: Property is gorgeous Food was good The beach is impecible Jamaica itself is amazing The hotel's covid-19 protocol was excellent. Shemar from Nexus tours and Nurse White went the extra mile for us. They also happen to not be direct employees of the hotel. Cons: The hotel is clearly false advertising to an unethical level We had lowered our expectations going into this trip given the COVID-19 situation. The hotel still managed to completely miss the mark. We never met our "butler" for the diamond club Only 3 of the 7 restaurants were open each day (sports bar, buffet, and one specialty) We only secured reservations one out of four nights for the specialty restaurants. This was very surprising as we had diamond club. The one day we did get a dinner resveration was also the day I tipped (see also: bribed) the diamond club butler. SUMMARY: The hotel is clearly scamming Hideaway guests as the hideaway is closed. The hideaway costs more than the Royalton. It is still available to book today even though it's closed. The hotel has an entire process for complaint forms for Hideaway guests. The hotel didn't tell us in advance that the hideaway side was closed. They didn't state that 60% of the restaurants were closed. Guests that show up feel trapped and unable to switch hotels. So they end up accepting this unacceptable practice versus having to book another hotel last minute. If this happens to you, you can dispute your credit card charges for goods not delivered and book a different hotel. Don't accept any haphazard 'freebies' which provide low to no value. I will not travel to another Royalton based on this experience.

    Everything is a scam

    We booked hideaway and paid extra it was closed when we arrived. Promised 9 restaurants there was only 3 and we could never get a reservation at the good place after 5 days of trying. First room we got had no air. When we first arrived we waited in lobby for 4 hours as they told us and others aggressively that our card doesn’t work.i went to Thailand last year and spent the same amount and went a week and a half longer and it was a trip of a life time. I will never travel here to Jamaica again and don’t recommend it. Let’s just say they were Jamaican me crazy!!!

    Will Be Back!

    Even during a pandemic, my friends and I have a wonderful time at this resort. Our rooms were gorgeous and spacious, and we each had views of the beautiful beach. The resort is a bit large so you should plan to walk to get to the restaurants and lobby but we were only 2 mins away from the beach and pool which had the bar. BIG SHOUTOUT to Keon (Name tag says Romaine so not sure which one) but he was absolutely on point. Always kept the drinks coming and had such great energy- loved him. All the bartenders did great! The lady at the pool bar as well as sports bar were also amazing. As for the food, we weren't fond of the actual a la carte restaurants as the food tasted rather bland so we preferred to go to the buffet for breakfast and dinner, and it was delicious- very large selection too! I also want to thank Esther who helped us make reservations at the restaurants and made sure to check on us and get us what we needed, even on her day off! I would say the night entertainment could be improved but we did love the disco show as well as all white party. We honestly loved it here, the service was amazing and everyone was so nice and welcoming. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard - we can't wait to come back!

    George The Butler

    This was our first time doing diamond club at royalton. We were excited to find out that the service came with a butler. George has been our butler the entire time and he is absolutely amazing! He’s very kind, attentive, & friendly. He has made us feel like family this entire trip! Ask for George when you book, you will not regret it!
